  1. Has anyone played the ghost city map on another server? Are there any weapon pickups anywhere? Things like ambient helis etc? My guess is that the map is looking for a model in a stock weapon that has been customized for the mod. Dont know which yet but it is a compatibility problem that happens from time to time with a lot of mods. Edit: Ok yea read around a few places. There must be weapon pickups in a secret place. For maps like that the only option is to alter a script for the map that deletes all weapons in it. Considering how many maps are out there it might be more problem than its worth.
  2. I would take those maps out for now. For the checksum at the end of a round I think its because there are too many iwds in the mod but it also depends on the map. The solution would be to limit it to three. But that would make for bigger server files to down. The other one might be related to that as well. Working on the next release with additions and fixes as we speak. Will test out both maps again. I figure the best thing to do this time is make three iwds, for a total of 4 files in the mod. For now delete everything in the mod folder and download again.

  4. Thx. It's very difficult to spot potential problems if nobody ever plays it. Also helps alot if a server is full and players experiment with different things and not just run around with an mp5 and use RC's all day. ;-)
  5. About a player tag missing or something like that? That is a problem with the map not having full heli support. So using the minigunner, overwatch and possibly the care package will cause a crash. Addressed in the next beta to compensate on such maps so they wont be awarded if in the loadout and the player will be notified so he can change the streak in the loadout. If you know the mapname let me know so I can test it.

  7. Still not enough to say 'buy me'. There are other zombie games where that is their primary purpose. Not an addon. I would have played the BO zombies more but the game itself is so clunky I uninstalled it and stuck with cod5. And I havent even gotten around to any custom zombie maps. But when it comes to cod games I pick nits on absolutely everything. If I ever got hired by Treyarch they would all hate me.

  9. Looks really cool and a slightly futuristic cod could be a nice change. But I'm not going to preorder it and at the earliest wont buy it until a month after it comes out. If MP sucks Im not going to bother. Otherwise it wont last 6 months. On PC anyways. Only preordered BO because of the promised mod tools. Wont make that mistake again until I see them. edit: and I just got an email from Amazon wanting me to predorder for 60 bucks. No thanks. Their incentive? A wallpaper! Whee!
  10. A macro like that wouldnt work since the internal timers for the G3 needs 0.07 seconds per round, so a max of 15, before it will fire another. Any commands received faster than that are ignored.
  11. Yup mouse wheel. Seen it done quite a bit and while not a hack or a cheat its kinda pointless. Yes the main reason why G3 is more accurate is because you cant go rock and roll with it. Most settings are no different than an M4. G3 has about %20 more view kick (same gun kick), takes almost another second to reload, and has a slightly slower fire rate even with the scroll wheel trick. So if you want full auto you are better off with an M4. The one benefit is that it can function as a fire rate selector of sorts. Press fire for single shot. Do the wheel for full auto. There is also the intangible of which gun a player "likes" more and there is no way to measure that.
  12. That is true. When sniping I tend to look for enemy snipers hiding in buildings or behind a hill and such. Unless there is a good target of opportunity behind a tree or something. Rushers I tend to avoid. Partially because my skills need a lot of improvement. But also because they are better handled by my own teams rushers. So it all depends.

  14. Testing out Boomer's Hidden Valley map I had to fix a mod problem related to ac130 flyover height due to the skybox size of the map. Little bug I missed for calculating map height. To get it to work the drop had to take place really low and it looks pretty cool. The B2 strike had to be lower than usual as well and seeing this big black wing overhead could be menacing. Should this kind of height be a default? Link to ac130 vid:
  15. Make sure the skybox is high and wide enough for the various player air support. Otherwise ac130 wont work for example. If you can get away with making the terrain bigger it would look better from the sky. But I dont know how that would hurt performance.
  16. Actually a good ol TDM match is always cool but the ones that are populated at the time of night I play always seem to be full of dumbasses and cheaters.
  17. Well the point was for people to play that one to look for bugs. But I understand most people just want to hop on and play, not be beta testers. A few were found when people were playing it in the beginning which did help spot the big ones and was much appreciated. Most noticeable with the Minigunner and overtime wasnt working correctly. Just got started going through some closed testing for the next one to spot any major problems. Car changes include the green trail and disabled the ability to climb ladders, jump, and mantle. But since it seems in ftag people like those abilities we are looking at how to make that an optional choice. Was told the car speed settings in the configs were bumped up but I havent had time to try it out, especially since there is nobody to shoot at on the beta server.
  18. Ah ok that one. Its a map issue because it lacks full heli support. Common for sniper maps. So when the Minigunner tries to spawn it bugs out. However just sent Rugger the links to the next update for the beta server and on maps like that helis should be disabled so they wont be awarded.

  20. On your PC it would be the cod4 usermaps folder for retail. Not sure about Steam. Each map has its own folder usually with three files. An iwd, ff, and load file.
  21. afaik the Chicago server has the LR versions but the beta server does not.
  22. Been awhlie since I played a dedicated sniper server. Will have to check it out.
  23. Currently in the beta, if you have bomb squad when you either take your own or steal a package you get the award but leave the package there booby trapped. Afterwards the friendly team will see a skull head icon for the item but the enemy will still see the owning team icon. Been thinking about a variation that drops a single booby trap instead. Will depend on asset limitations and a possibility for the future.
  24. Oh oh sorry. I thought you were talking about the care package. I assume that tac nuke vid is of server with the current release not the beta, which should be fixed. edit: I take that back. Not sure its fixed on the other server but it is fixed in the next update. In terms of ftag or other objective games the player who called the nuke is forced to be the last one killed. So in effect he is the last man standing and that team will win the round.
  25. You will only die if you stand under it. Its funny but also done for practical reasons. If it doesnt kill you then you will end up standing in the middle of it when it lands and you will get stuck there. Actually, saw today that it will also trigger an explodable car if it lands on it. Not a good thing and a bug but it was still pretty funny the first time I saw it. Sometimes these unexpected things are worth keeping tho.
