Is this an integrated NIC? Add an external NIC, disable the onboard and see if the problem persists. NIC's are CHEAP as hell. You need to figure out if it's actually your NIC, your router or your modem.

Acorn? LOLOLOL Just google Windows 8 start menu, there are several free solutions available that work great. I can set up a Win 8 PC now so you can't hardly tell it's not windows 7. I have to say, after setting up 8 on several customer computers, I actually like it. Once you get past the mess that is Metro, there's a lot of cool features/updates that make managing the PC easier. One thing I really like is the ability to delete all but the last restore point. Windows 7 just nukes all of them. It's the little things that make Win 8 better.

While I haven't played any games using Win 8, all of the benchmarks show it's faster than Windows 7. Hey, this is the first time I had a different opinion from you. LOL

I've only played this for about an hour and I'm getting my noob ass kicked! So far I'm on the fence as whether I like it or not. Being purely a close-up game is a bit frustrating as the various attacks and defensive moves seem pretty "scripted". Seems like more of a matter of figuring out which counter-attack works best based on the attack. Basically, you have short, medium and longer-range attacks and it's matter of choosing the best one for a given situation. To me, that makes the game play just too linear for my tastes. I'll keep trying to see if it improves but so far I'm not all that impressed. I was hoping for much more.

Picked this game up for $6, trying to find time to setup my joystick with it. It's a royal bitch getting my Sidewinder configured with my profile software.....just about there. Have to keep jumping in and out of servers to test my configuration. The game play is a little more complicated than I had hoped for. It's going to take me a while to get everything where I want it.

I couldn't agree more! I've been building/repairing computers for 25 years and I see it all the time.....usually with IE. People get malware on their machine and at the advice of a friend install a different browser. They THINK they have fixed their problems, but it's only a mask. The problem/malware are still there hiding in the background. Why use some odd-ball browser? Stick with the big 3! That way you can be assured of getting immediate patches and upgrades.

Finally finished this game, it's pretty good and highly recommended if you can find it for about $10. I was a little disappointed with the ending, kept expecting a big boss but it never came.. I took out most of the end guys with nades....Spanky would have been proud! I was saving my good ammo (BFG and Plasma) and never needed it. LOL I had to reload a check point so I could waste the end-hordes with real fire power...but that made it too easy IMO. Damn, now I'm back to nothing to play. Looking forward to the release of Carmageddon around the end of this year! That game will be AWESOME!

No surprise but it's pretty rude when there's a line of people waiting for gas. Not to mention, it's pretty dangerous and nasty to drive around with all that gas in your car.....especially with kids.

Yea, I'm not into playing online, just the single player. In general there are too many lamers and cheats online for gaming these days. I'm 50 years old and I can't stand it anymore after gaming online for the past 15 years or so.

Hey Joe! Nope, I only fragged on the Xi server and I got banned over the Cherokee crap. So I quit playing since I have no interest in playing any of the COD2 servers left in the world.....they all suck compared to the XI mod. I miss you all, great bunch of guys in XI and they run the best servers around!

Picked up the Anarchy edition for under $1 using some buy.com points. Anyone else play it? I just started into it last night and so far it's just OK. The graphics, music, etc are all good and the game play is pretty interesting. It's like a mix of several different games. One plus is I do like the mix of driving and FPS.

not a big fan of vettes....but urs is pretty cool...i could learn to live with that one lol This one is a bit special. It's the "return year" for the vette, 1984. It has the Z-51 performance option, ZR-1 rims, 4+3 tranny and few other goodies. Took me a few years to find one, very scarce as vettes go. I'm glad you like it. Here's the car I bought my wife in 2006 SL with Driver Preferred Package, brand new. We're still driving it, GREAT and dependable car.

Spawn protection is a must on a server with amped up weapons. It's completely unfair to frag someone at the moment they spawn. Since I'm no longer playing, I don't know about the invisibility thing but you also have to be careful not to give the person spawning any sort of advantage.
