  1. An excellent suggestion, actually (for one so ignorant.) My concern is that, as Idiots, we may never agree on what constitutes a "good" feature vs a "bad" one.
  2. Well, I've finally voted. I voted Evolve. Now that I can see the results, I'm surprised that TeamSpeak is winning because I really don't see it as a strong text chat client. And "poking" someone to get their attention may cause a kick from whatever game they are playing.
  3. Yeah, unfortunately, the medkit requires you to hold the use key for a while. Your mouse wheel assignment probably won't work for that.
  4. x-fire isn't going away, it's already gone, lol. Kaput. Dead. TS is a voice chat system, but we need a text chat system so people can get a hold of admins (as one of the primary uses) when they are on-line, but not in-game.
  5. I get that you want to go with raptr, and I get what you're saying about its chat interface looking "cleaner" than the others. But you're completely discounting that there's a whole other part/interface to raptr - the part that has the video stuff, the game optimization stuff, the game library stuff, and all the AMD-centric driver stuff. It's overall cleanness factor is therefore dirty as sin. Evolve may have a game ad at the bottom, and I sure as hell don't like that, but that screen is pretty much it. None of the other stuff. So it, relatively speaking, is squeaky clean. btw, I'm not voting for raptr with these comments. I'm still thinking a more universally adopted chat service, like Skype makes the most sense. But - alas - there are those who are venomously opposed to that, too. idk. Not really sure where this is going...
  6. But TS is a voice chat system. And it's room-based, not user-based. You have to go to the room where someone is, and maybe they are playing a game where the players are using TS as the main game audio chat, so you're disrupting a game to talk to someone. Or they may be sitting in an admin room that you don't have access too, and so are effectively unreachable even though they are right there. Maybe you can "poke" someone who's sitting in a room you don't have access to, idk, But "poking" is known to kick some games back to the desktop, maybe even crashing them. TS's text chat capabilities seem only as an afterthought, or at best, as a way to send supportive information - like a website link - into what is primarily a voice chat.
  7. Moreover, there are some reports (real or unsubstantiated, idk) that unpredictable behavior, like game crashes, occur when both Steam and Origin clients are running at the same time.
  8. It's the "use" key - typically "F" in COD5. Press and hold it to use a medkit.
  9. I really think options like Skype and Hangouts should be added to this list. They are more general use in nature and do not have all the game overlay stuff that often just messes with your game. I'm also concerned at all the system resources some of these programs like raptr and overwolf tap into. They create a game library, look over your graphics card, want to optimize your games (probably badly) and set up video buffers for instant recording, phone home with all these results... Who really wants all that? I'm not sure what it is that people are expecting from a text chat client. I think we really only need a way to contact people who are at their computer, but not in game. All this other stuff just seems like massive overkill to me. I know Skype allows you to group contacts. Not sure about Hangouts. They both are cross-platform, too. Install them on your phone if you got a smart one. If I had to choose from the current list only, I guess I'd have to say Steam since most of us already have it and it is already required of many of the games we play.
  10. Happy Birthday, Ricko. It's still your birthday here in the states, so let's get pissed.
  11. @@Gam3rGurL - Speedtest will tell you your Internet speeds, both up and down. http://www.speedtest.net/ PingPlotter Free (there is a paid version, too, but just work with the free one for now) is a great test program to visually see where in the path to our servers you are loosing the connection. You might be surprised to find the disconnect is happening halfway from you to the server. Or it might show you you're ISP is whacking off and just blowing you off whenever you complain. But armed with PingPlotter information you can tell them to get off their asses and get you fixed up. https://www.pingplotter.com/freeware.html Let me know if you need help with any of this.
  12. Well, it looks like I showed up just in time for your hang over. But seeing as you have no memory of your birthday yesterday due to the blackout, you might as well start over today. And so I say to you - HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Not a day late, just another day drunk!
  13. Welcome to Idiotville, 24oz! You've made the big time now! We're all still trying to figure out big in what way (and many have their own self-serving theories on that,) but well, there's the whole Idiot thing.
  14. Summer Rain in the Wisconsin Burbs.
  15. Forget the "Black Muslim in the White House" virus hoax. Instead, pay attention to this one. Again, this is a highly trusted source. http://www.moneytalksnews.com/fbi-warns-that-nasty-ransomware-spreading/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_campaign=email-2015-06-24-pm&utm_medium=email
  16. Disregard - This is a hoax http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/whitehouse.asp
  17. Congratulations! But be mindful of other interests. IT can be all-consuming and if you have no fall-back interests and talents, life can get hard. That's true of most every profession, but again, it's the all-consuming nature of IT that is like wearing blinders to any other pursuit.
  18. That's not what I got from it, but you decide.
  19. There was some discussion about this in-game the other day, and I think there's going to be a lot of "speculation" about how this will all be going down. Here is an article from a trusted source. I think it should shed some light. http://windowssecrets.com/newsletter/what-you-should-know-about-the-win10-launch/
  20. It never gives me one. What's the trick? Not that I really care - it seems the shotgun in there earns you double points on a kill, so I still kicked everyone's raygun-ass last time I played it.

  22. Alice Blue. Coming soon to Girls Rock Radio. What a cool song, omg!
  23. @@Trailrtrash - That's one of my all time favorite songs! Thanks for posting it!
  24. Not all Idiots have smart phones.
  25. Um... Why did I come in here? I get enough stupid in one day. This was just an overdose.
