Thanks for the welcome everyone! Quite an honor to be an Idiot! In case any are wondering about the name, Mot is a nickname I was given back in my high school daze. It's my name spelled backward, and was given to me by another Mot. It worked well as a login name in the earlier days of the internet, but how often do you find a server that will let you have a 3-character username these days, right? As it became less and less likely to work, I was also starting up my internet radio station - Girls Rock Radio, http://www.girlsrockradio.com featuring the music of women artists in the Rock, Pop, and Alternative music genres. So it seemed fitting to add "dj" to Mot and, viola, djMot. And btw, if it is confusing in game like when DEEJAYKEG is playing also, feel free to just call me Mot. Totally works for me. So there's just a little more about me. I've really enjoyed the laughter in the games, and some of you know why that's important to me these days. Looking forward to putting on tags and opening fire as an Idiot.

To my COD5 friends... My mother passed away this morning. I will likely be absent for a few days as I sort things out and prepare for her funeral. It has been a difficult period for me over the past many weeks, and there's been a lot going on behind the scenes over here. People have been telling me to "take care of yourself during all of this!." Battling on the killing fields of COD5 has provided endless amusement and stress relief, and has been one of those ways I have found to keep sane through this time. Thanks for being there and helping me blow off steam while I blow off your heads ("CLINK !!!") - although my body parts have usually been strewn around a little more frequently. Ha! See you soon. CLINK a few heads for me while I'm away...

Yeah. This hits home for me right now. My mom is in failing health, and caregivers speak of "unacceptable behaviors" rather than what triggered them and have even forced her to move to another care facility twice now. I just completed the second move for her yesterday. The settling in hasn't even begun, but I don't think she really cares much any more. She just wants this to be over. Yeah. This hits home for me right now.

I have a 17 year old daughter, so this really speaks to me. Prayers for everyone involved. Glad your daughter escaped serious injury. How's the boy doing now? My daughter just kind of stopped doing driver's ed about half way through her behind-the-wheel. Not sure why, and she says she really doesn't know. But that's no consolation when she's riding around in other people's cars. I grew up in a fairly small town of only about 16,000. It was easy for me to get LOTS of idol cruising time which I think really prepared me for much bigger city driving. We live in a larger city now, so my daughter gets a trial by fire every time she gets behind the wheel. I think there's WAY more to worry about today with the distractions of cell phones and the sheer volume of traffic these days. Hope every one there recovers well.

Been seeing some beautiful maps I've not played in before with this new rotation. Love the DM Server, too. Enjoy the people that hang there. On all servers, that's true, but it seems like DM has a pack that especially enjoys laughing about the insane kills and funny shit that's just bound to happen in the game.

Congrats, Rascal. Maybe you could get my daughter to get her butt back in the driver's seat. She just stopped wanting to continue with behind-the-wheel for some weird reason and says she just doesn't know why.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone! I suspected that it was just something that had to time out on its own. Someone once told me there was a file you could delete locally, but maybe it's best to just let it be. After all, two minutes isn't an eternity, right? @Labob - It's any of them, really. Between the Modern Weapons server and the Freeze Tag server - the two I'm on most frequently - I'd say the Mod Wepons server pulls the trigger on me (lol) a little more often. Knowing that there's a timeout on the server that auto-kicks someone who's crashed out tells me there's probably nothing I can do locally to speed up the re-join. And after Beers posted the links to all the maps for me, crashes between maps after an earlier download has all but disappeared. It's the occasional mid-game crash that's frustrating. But I'm playing probably 19 out of 20 maps crash-free at this point. It's all (mostly) good.

Hey guys... When you get a UE and try to go back into the server/game you just creashed out of, you get that "duplicate q-port" error. Is there a quick way to reset that before you go back into the game, or is that something you just have to wait on the server to time out for you?

Ah! Thanks for the schooling. All I could think of was the Unhandled Exceptions that used to plague me before you posted the map download links for me, but the initials didn't fit. That said, I really haven't noticed all that many CIs. A few here and there, but no real game stoppers. Played a fun couple of rounds on the new server this afternoon. Working great.

Gonna go look for this server on the big list and add it to my favorites - even though it sounds like a test. Loves me some freezetag! But, stupid question - what's a ci?

Someone mentioned a download containing all the maps for COD5. Is there such a thing? Just a quick glance through the download area here on the XI website didn't yield any joy on that, and I think the official XI Downloader program is broken, right? Anyway, just hoping to reduce the inevitable crashes between games after downloading maps I don't already have. See you in the maps.
