  1. LOL # 8 is the written equivalent of going back to see who was just shooting at you (and getting killed for it.)
  2. You always know where you stand with Pink.
  3. OMG. How do you spell concussion? Did you hear his head crack?
  4. Rusty - please accept my apologies. The LAST thing I meant to do was offend you or hurt your feelings! You never said they were non-copyrighted tracks, or your own. And I am not in the habit of stirring up ugly emotions, so again, I humbly apologize to you. Where I'm coming from... The prevalence of complete disregard for copyrighted material is disturbing. One of the other "gaming" things I do is fly flight simulators - FSX and X-Plane. Many people record their flights and create AMAZING movies out of them, and of course, they often provide a popular song as a soundtrack. They really don't get that they have broken copyright law by creating a public instance of the performance of copyrighted material. And you're right about YouTube, but in fact, a lot of videos ARE shut down due to claimed DMCA violations by the actual copyright holder. As for my internet radio station, people are trying to ripp my stream all the time, and the music industry says I am not supposed to allow that. And finally, in general 99% of the time people who are talking about uploading music to the internet so their friends can have it, too, they are talking about major label artists. I had no way of knowing that you were talking about sharing your own music. It was MY BAD for not at least qualifying my remarks as applying to copyrighted material. But in my world, that's just a given. Nonetheless, that's no excuse, and again and again and again, I humbly apologize to you. Perhaps Dropbox would be a great way for you to share your music with friends. There's a cool video introducing the service on their home page at http://www.dropbox.com Dropbox is available on many platforms, and you can share with people who don't even have a Dropbox account. If you click a download link, then just cancel the download, there's a link on the page that lets you take a look at their FAQs which should answer any questions you have. Again, I apologize for offending you and hurting your feelings. I was only trying to educate and did not mean to come off pompous and insulting. Are we cool? Hopeful we are, djMot
  5. I don't want to sound like I'm beating you up or anything, so tell me to fuck off if you want, but the bottom line is that "sharing" music with your friends is illegal. It's a violation of copyright law, and the music industry is venomous about it. What's wrong with your friends buying the same tracks you have already purchased? Your recommendation should be enough, right? And they can probably hear the tracks on some other service before they pull the credit card trigger and buy it. Please support the artists you love by actually purchasing their tracks/albums. They have given so much and they are entitled to the expectation of being able to eat for all their effort and creativity. I'll shut up now; I've probably beat this horse to death.
  6. I was more looking for something to upload like a music file that i can show my friends. As the owner of an internet radio station and well versed in the American music industry's view of things, that's something you do NOT want to do. There are sites and apps like spotify, LastFM, Pandora, Rhapsody, and the like, that may let you create playlists that you can share with friends, but they are handled within the framework of a site that has been properly licensed to create a public performance of copyrighted material. They may serve you up some ads or limit your fidelity, but they have music royalties to pay. A monthly subscription may eliminate the ads and give you better fidelity. But, yeah... Be careful.
  7. Oddly, I don't remember seeing a single CFL when I visited Europe a few years ago.
  8. Sorry, coming in late and too lazy to read up on the thread. I think the OBD has transmission stats in it, presumably that includes transaxle info. Have you checked for any OBD errors? Not all trip the Check Engine light.
  9. Take them shopping. It's not like it's taboo for a guy to do that. Once in the store, you'll pick up on what's the right size. I had to go through this with my daughter as a single parent father. There's no right or wrong answer where clothing sizes are concerned. You're right, it's confusing, but if you just go do the shopping, it all works out in the end.
  10. Welcome Weeder76! Air Force guy here, but thanks for your service all the same! Not the cake walk the recruiter told you of, but it will most certainly be the time of your life! Enjoy our servers!
  11. I thought kitty cats get licks. Happy Birthday.
  12. Well, I didn't know (till just 15 minutes ago) that Billie Piper was a pop singer...
  13. Welcome Burnnbright. Hope to see you in the maps real soon.
  14. [From the back of the room was heard] Get a Mac! Okay, all else has failed. Try this - toggle hardware acceleration on your video card. ALSO, and this may be key (dunno, but try it) - in the Dell BIOS there's a setting for the video memory aperture. I'm guessing this may have been a replacement video card and was never configured into the system properly. Could also be that memory is too choked, but I believe someone already talked about memory upgrades. I'll add to it by noting that not all memory is created equal, and you need to get memory that's properly timed for your bus and processor. A mismatch there can absolutely cripple a machine. Might not be noticeable running a simple spreadsheet or document, but put anything bus/core-intensive on it and you get a puzzling lack of performance.
  15. I didn't know about Kingsoft Office. I'm test driving it now. Thanks for that tip, GMoney.
  16. Welcome to the forums, Crazygirl. Let's get that coffee some in one of the little map cafes. Maybe a glass of wine. Lady's choice. I'm buyin' if you ain't shootin'.
  17. Welcome Wishbone. I really ought to get over to the COD4 FreezeTag servers once in a while now that I have COD4. Come try out the COD5 Vietnam FreezeTag too some time. It's fun in there too.
  18. YouSendIt is one of the most popular and contemporary file sharing services. As for email programs, I use Thunderbird, from Mozilla - makers of Firefox. It, too, has an expiration date stamped on it, though. As I understand, one more major update is planned, then the Thunderbird project will be mothballed. They also site the preponderance of web-based email services as the final nail in the coffin of further development. Sad because Thunderbird is a BRILLIANT email client. I've used it for at least the past 7 years or so. Its evolved nicely. That said, and because I have a smartphone, I'm even using my gmail accounts more than ever before. But that's for personal emails. Business emails are another matter entirely.
  19. From south of the Great White Northern border, a warm and fulfilling Thanksgiving wish to all my Canadian friends!
  20. Someone hold my hair while I puke. Oh wait, I don't have any...
  21. I've noticed that when I cycle from my primary to secondary weapon, I'll get a duplicate of the primary. I assume one is the single shot, but have no clue why it's there. If I cycle back through the secondary to the first primary, I'm assured that the weapon is in automatic mode. Hope that helps. Pretty curious anyway.
