got it sorted, Larsin guided me through, while in game, went to options, multiplayer options, and was able to amend my name and add the XI tags. This only seems to work when you are in game, the option wont work off line. Still don't know why it happened in the first place...some sort of jiggery pokery I guess

My CoD4 somehow managed to fix itself, which is weird

Hi Matt, managed to get COD2 to work, sort of, but also COD4 now working, no idea why it suddenly is, magic goblins or something I reckon!

Trouble is I am using Windows 8, seems evrything against me getting both COD2 and CODMW2 ever to work again :devil: :devil: :devil: :devil: :devil:

See, said loader is the best to go to may be on tonight if anyone is one. If im not on then i am usually on CoD4 MW2 FT server

CoD2 issues? Drop that in the cod2 forum and us CoD2 players will help best we can

Generally if you have completely lost control of the account due to no longer having the email address it makes the process a bit more drawn out, but not impossible. You will need to follow a similar protocol to if someone had phished your account. Depending on activity level on the account they will decide on what should be supplied to recover it.

I agree with Mickvette I have playing more on other servers because of the speed some of these players (I will not name anyone but I'm sure you know who they are). I play mostly only COD 4 but I am growing tired of these one shot jumpers and speed demons.  I know ping has very little to do with it when someone with a 200 plus ping can run and shoot twice as fast as me with a ping under 100. I have one my share of games but only when everyone is playing about the same speed.

Is it just me, or does there seem to be a real influx of hyper speed players, that just CANNOT be beaten by mere mortals like myself?
The last few times I have been playing have just been soul destroying, several games I managed to achieve a zero score with dozen of kills against me. I know I am not the greatest gamer, but the fun does seem to be going out of it.

It might be a 4 month old thread but if you check through the forums this problem has been popping up for years and it will still be puzzling people for years to come i think, so this is still a very relevant topic.

 Well I took a chance and downloaded the updates for Realtek, then rather than uninstalling etc tried it out, no issues at all, so now I have at long last got my XI downloader to work, plus no iw3 errors any more, mind you hasn't improved my game performance

Whilst it is great to have lots of maps, could we maybe have a calming period of a few weeks without the constant stream of new maps all the time? I run downloader but still have the problem of new maps appearing and having to wait for yet another download. For those with fast broadband I appreciate this isn't much of a problem, but for those of us with slow speeds (my best is 2mb!) it becaome a rain pain in the ass having to download, then eventually join in with only a few minutes of that map left, the await the next download and so on, it feels for ever!
As I post this I am again running downloader, after only running it last Sunday, and yet dozens more new maps now downloading, this will take me about 3-4 hours when I really would love to be in game, and yes getting the shit kicked out of me, but what the hell, still good fun!
