It is an old idiom meaning that the person referred to is exceptional from the norm, thinking about it, it could be applied to you, but in a different context, if the other idiots ' get my drift ' -  to coin a more modern phrase.
It is myself who wears the eye patch, along with a cutlass, useful for carving the sunday joint, I suppose the sunday joint means something different where you live ??  Talking about that are you settling down in your new abode? hows the hunting ?

What's simply astonishing, and simply-bewildering, to me is this:  the Allies of WWII helped the Chinese and Russians defeat their enemies, and, WHAT DA FRICK!!!  Now, all of a sudden, we're they're enemies!!!!
