Interesting to know @PainKiller. I didn't know the specs played into auto balance. It seems like that would be an easy coding fix from the developers to keep the specs out of the auto balance headcount. Is that mod still being worked on actively at all? I haven't read up on it in ages. It seems like that feature request would have already been made.

The respawn was good for ctf. The change I would make is the auto return on killing the flag runner. Flag touch to return is what I really like. That really dropped a good element of the game. Sometimes the flag being dropped in a hot area made for some great gameplay. Unfortunately I only got to play a short bit. Thanks for putting it on and showing respect to our fallen.

I think there is more to it than that. I'm curious to get the full story if its ever made public. Screwing up a bgp config\routes on a Cisco or Juniper infrastructure for example would only take minutes to roll back if everything shit the bed.

Its pretty easy to scrub data. Nothing would have to come down.

I've been in IT for over 20 years and 11 of that was for an ISP. Buy all the backup and surge protection you want. Against a small power surge it can help. NOTHING on the market I've seen will stop a good lightning strike. Unplugging power and ethernet connections are your best protection. If you have a cable modem unplug your coax as well. Electricity tends to travel down that copper quite well. Usually if it comes over coax your modem, router and sometimes copper connected devices are done.
