  1. the Q 6600 is still good enough to play all games...dont worry about that...ask X-Ray LOL go for new PSU ....at least 600 watts for future updates... maybe have a look at the old nvidia 460 series ....pretty cheap maybe go for a good socket 775 cpu cooler...OCing your cpu to 3.2 Ghz or even more might help as well
  2. Deckard Never figured you for a Ford guy... but what the hell my first car was a 1975 BMW 2002... Some Gas info for you ... US Gallon has 3.78 L Canadian Gallon has 4.5 L Right now on Vancouver Island gas sells for $ 1.25.9 Wake Up , Time To Die oh come on....$1.259 for a gallon ?!? even if this was per liter.... looks like heaven to me LOL

  6. Ferret NightmareXI the 5750 will be enough to run the actual games on low maybe even some medium settings... like Merlin said have a look at the dimensions of the old psu and go for a 500 watts that will be enough.... and disable the onboard after that not to cause trouble Just to be sure I understand.... I *should* disable the on-board card if I put the new card in? My brother said the same thing, but the guy at Geek Squad (when we tried to recover my old system image) said that disabling on-board cards will mess up my "driver hierarchy" (or something along those lines) and bug out the OS - and that I should let them run in parallel. The Geek Squad guy seemd to know what he was talking about, but I dunno. Sorry to be Mr. 50 questions.... but I am NOT a techie and all I want to do is play games without having to get a degree in computer science or pay someone $150 to plug in a card & load a driver or two. Thanks for help, much appreciated!! I would disable the onboard after the sys is up and running with the new card...drivers installed and everything is working...

  17. hey man, the 4890 is a really hot headed card LOL....temps on high load at 90°C are pretty normal I hate graphics running at these temps though the companys said this is okay....LOL if you want to fix this for a small amount of money go for the accelero like Mofo said I am using 2 of the three fans version on my 6970 CF setup and they do a great job there temps are 38 °C on idle and highest temps around 60°C after playing a couple of hours even running furmark the temps are at 65 °C the second card is even colder if you really think about getting a watercooled sys wait for the Corsair H 80 or even the H100 the H 80 is available yet here in germany and the H100 will be released soon I am doing a lot of research atm about water cooling because I want to change my sys to water cooling but there are a lot of things you have to look at if you want to add a self arranged sys I have read a lot and still I am not at the point to be sure to buy the right components LOL Good Luck with this
