Fact is, global temperatures have not been rising the past several years, but dropping. AP gathered temperatures for 100 years or so (the accuracy of this data is quite unreliable) and handed them to statisticians it hired to determine whether there was a global cooling "trend" of late. Of course, the result was quite predictable: a few years of global cooling temperatures, within the context of many more years of global warming temperatures, could not possibly indicate a cooling trend.

But this approach, in and of itself, demonstrates the fallacy of the global warming argument, i.e., a hundred year or so of temperatures within the context of five billion or so years of Earth history, cannot be used to demonostrate anything.

I couldn't agree more. In fact, I think the whole concept of global warming is a scheme by the globalists to make a shitload of money off the people because many of us have been dumbed down so much. Why do I say it's the globalists? Well look at where the money will be going if the carbon tax gets in: a big ass European bank... not our own government. And it certainly wouldn't go towards projects aimed at reversing the effects IF they even existed.

I disagree.

1. Weezer, you did not even provide the AP's documentation and then refute the data within it with your own data.

2. Global warming is not just based on "a trend" of climate change, that's like saying the Theory of Evolution is based

My take goes like this. we dont help by being here on earth. but how about all the methane produced by the millions apon millions of animals that came b4 us. why didnt they contribute to warming. or did they? u c u can all say we made it or not. the fact is that we r not helping it. the other side is that upon billion of billions of years we as humans have lived

Well not to get all involved here, but methane produced by animals is in the form of fecies and the rotting dead heh. I've never seen a deer or a sea otter running dispatch on a fleet of diesel engines, or egineering a locamotive.. :P Methane produced naturally I would consider part of the process, and needed to preserve the balance. The issue becomes humans outsmarting themselves, and contributing by orders of magnitude to this particular issue. If the only greenhouse gasses humans produced came from taking a dump and buying the farm, I'd have to believe there would be no issue. ;]

Yep! Just another way to tax us all. By the way they change the name to Climate change. Because the earth has been cooling for the last ten years.

For every scientist that says global warming/climate change is a real threat to the planet you have one that says it is'nt so what are us uneducated hordes supposed to think, if global warming does exist then it has certainly bypassed Britain after the last 3 disastrous summers that we have had.Undecided

Bottom line: We have insufficient data upon which to base a scientific conclusion that a., there is global warming, and that b., mankind is causing it. We all recognize that pollution needs to be dealt with and in the past several decades major progress has been made. But we should not form policy - particularly international policy that will harm America - based on supposition.

Man thinks he is more powerful than the earth. That is very funny. Earth is 4.5 billion years young. Human have existed for roughly half a million years. That is all. No way can we affect the climate in any meaningful way. The earth renews itself continually. I was taught that in high school.
