From Tom's Guide:

This week Treyarch's community manager, Josh Olin, spoke out about the bug-filled Call of Duty: Black Ops along with the company's role and attitude in fixing those bugs.

"The studio is taking every effort to ensure that every fan is happy," Olin explained. "It is unfortunate that those [bugs] have to exist at all. In an ideal would we would love to ship a completely bug-proof game. I can't think of a single developer in the world, though, that could achieve that."

Gamers on all three platforms, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, have experienced troublesome bugs while playing the game's online multiplayer mode. These bugs have continued to pop up since the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops.

In response to a plethora of gamer complaints and worries, Activision released several updates in the past months attempting to fix the major issues players had such as: respawning next to their enemies, game freezing, issues with killstreaks, and more. Despite their efforts, Olin has still been dealing with complains from upset gamers who experience different problems and bugs.

In order to enlighten the disgruntled Black Ops players, Olin has took to the forums in order to explain exactly how the game patching process works and why gamers should be a bit more patient when waiting for bugs to be fixed. Olin explained that Treyarch collects a comprehensive list of bugs over the course of two or three weeks. After the list is collected the developer spends a week testing the fixes and another week waiting for the console to approve the new updates. Finally, the patch is released after two to three days.

According to Olin, it takes the company about a month to address certain bugs and problems that may make playing the game unpleasant. Considering the frequency that people play the company's hit titles, this period of time feels like years to gamers. Let us know about your multiplayer experience in

Funny.... The "game patch process" sounds alot like Alpha and Beta testing, which this game did not have.  Maybe if more than 1 year between releases was allowed by Activision, proper testing could happen.

Black Ops is running alot better than when it was first released, but I think the damage is done between the PC gaming community and Treyarch/Activision..... Fuck you both.
