just installed 4gb of ram now win 7 ultimate keeps crashing any ideas ? anyone.

Windows 7 can be a bit fickle with memory.. make sure it matches memory you already had.. or take out the other memory and try it .   I am assuming you have 2 2gb sticks mabey not.. just put in one stick and see.. then the other it may be the memory

other then it being bad or not compatible,

 

I would try and up the voltage on the ram , a little at a time,

check and see what voltage it will take ,
