OK, so I got my new PC up and running, but when I loaded COD4, I am getting a max of 60 FPS.  WTF?  I used to get 125 on my old PC?  I made sure that my MAXFPS is set to 250, but that didn't help.  I even turned down the graphics properties and it was still getting a max of 60 FPS?  How is that possible?

Here is my setup:

Intel i7 2600K

ASUS P8Z68 Pro Mobo

120 GB SSD as Primary Drive running on SATA 3 at 6.0 Gbps (COD4 loaded on this drive also)

90 GB secondary SSD (only SATA 2)

1 TB WD Caviar Black 64 MB Cache SATA 3 HDD

16 GB G-Skill Ripjaws RAM

GeForce 570 Superclocked Video Card

ok, if I can't get high FPS on COD4 with that set up, something is wrong......but what??

Sounds like it could be your vertical sync. Try disabling it in the cod4 graphics menu.

have you tried a different game ?try to run a benchmark like heaven dx11 or 3dmark11 to be sure your sys is running smooth

if this works fine it should be just a game/video setting of COD4 Smile

If your running 250fps make sure you also set your maxpackets to at least 84 (3:1) or 125 (2:1) (I bet yours are set to 60)

/com_maxfps 250  (0 is max FPS but I recommend 125 which is what the Quake3 engine was made to run at)

/cl_maxpackets "84" (63 for 125fps)

/r_multigpu "1" (Verify)

Others:

/sm_enable 0 (Turns off unique Shadows and boosts FPS more than most commands.)

/snaps "30" (20 for slow connection-40 for fast connection-your max is server side)

/com_hunkmegs 512-2048 (this is half your ram typically, for you set it to 2048 for better load times)

EDIT: As a reminder you can experience bad lag spikes and increased pings with maxpackets over 100, it's a balance and depends on your connection.

Thanks Bill....that did the trick.

I did benchmark my PC just to see what I was getting and the results are pretty interesting.  I am going to put them in another post, but basically, in the benchmark with everything cranked on high, I was getting FPS of 60.0 and Score of 1512.  My old PC, which I thought ran pretty well only got 22.8 FPS and Score of 574.  Pretty big jump in performance!!
