I haven't had a MS Office product since Office 2000, and haven't missed them either. Openoffice is free, open sourced, and works great.

If you need help, hollar and I can walk you through changing them. I use both programs, and they will communicate fine with each other as long as you save it to the right file type.

The developers and major backers have migrated to the Libre Office fork. A new version was recently released that fixed a huge # of bugs, added more features, and greatly increased the interoperability with Microsoft Office.
