Help With Punkbuster!

Recently I've been kicked out of your guys Freezetag Server 1 and 2 for CoD4 for the reason of having to update punkbuster files manually. I've updated the files several times and tried rejoining your guys servers but I'll get kicked out for the same reason or it will say server disconnected. Oddly I'm able to join your guys Deathrun server no problem its just the freezetag servers I have problems with. Please help me with my problem.

i just went through an ordeal with punkbuster. i have a question for you,. when PB kicks does it say communication failure pnkbstr B fails to initialize ?

as for updating just go to evenbalance.com then go to the section for COD4 and they have some simple instructions to manually update and while you are there you might also want to download pbsetup.exe then run that as well. i only hope you have a simple update problem.

There have been loads of reports of people getting punkbuster problems.Try what Katana has said, cause he's been plagued by it for weeks now. Hopefuilly punkbuster will get out a fix soon, and all will return to normal.

The moment I join the server I get kicked out saying "Frawg Punkbuster kicked player 'Frawg' (for 0 minutes) ... Visit www.unevenbalance.com to manually update your PB files" and then I update my files manually and I still get kicked for the same reason or it will give me server disconnected.

looks like here we go again. did you use the pbsetup.exe yet ? try that first. i guess after that go to the cod4 section and fill out a trouble ticket and see what evenbalance comes up with. i think you will wind up with the same retoric they gave me and many others. they just don't want to admit they fucked up ! if it gets to that try defraging your system then reinstall cod4. its a lot of trouble i know but it may save you having to reload your system like i had to do. this last update pb came up with has really hurt a lot of people.

Alright I'll try that. Probably should of mentioned I use a Mac so the pbsetup.exe won't work for me, Mac's can't run .exe files. I'll try doing what you said though. Thanks for your help!

i assumed you had a pc, this most recent update from pb really attacked the mac's but there is a fix available for the mac's. i wish you well on your finding a fix, there are number of posts on fixing the mac's in this forum.
