hello all im looking for a good 3d modeling program to try and make my own models..which is the best that is free to download and isnt a trail version...im starting to make some maps for cod4 radiant seems the ssame as mohaa radiant and cod1radiant with alittle different functions but basically the same but i noticed cod4 had shit for the models so i want to make my own if possible..thank you in advanced for any help given

Blender will do what you want for simple static models in a map.

 

Unless you are prepared to shell out the bucks for Maya.

i will give it a try havent done much 3d modeling but have been wanting to learn and i need trees that the cod4 engine doesnt already produce..thank you in advance for the links and any help

of i imported a 3d model and all i get is a grey square the model doesnt show up..not sure what i did wrong can anyone help
