I dont see why u would need something like this for just gaming

I use a steinburg/yamaha audio interface, but only because I use a cardiod mic.  I have a lot of background noise where I live.  But that is an entirely different issue.

yea i also use the card for mic preamp as i use a cardioid condenser mic that needs 48volts. But its not really good as mic preamp lol

i should install my soundboard so i can get better preamps but yea i have no place for that yet ( i just moved and the studio/deskroom isnt done yet)

I feel the Astro 50 is over priced. For that price I should get a professional studio headset instead.

Sorry drunk post....they are 300 new, I will sell you mine for 100 dollars...

aj

It's a good headset for gaming and base head..

My list of complaints:

1. The midrange is horrible and sounds empty

Bass is heavy and full good for explosions. and treble is good for voice. But it lags fine definition.

2. use cabeling is not shielded and can interrupt the device if placed to close to electonic noise ...

3. Cable for headset to short can't really charge and use at the same time . Same pore quality cable on both...

4. It's to expensive for what they are get a cabled one instead.

Pros.

1. build quality is superb fits nice and feels solid.

2. Great for gaming

You can get studio grade headphones for half the price of the Astro 50. Wireless anything is terrible for gaming especially a headset that can get interference from other sources and instantly destroy your ears if it hits the right frequency. A wireless mouse works as long as you can charge it and use it at the same time like mine but if you get a wired mouse you forget it's wired if the cable is long enough and put something heavy on the wire to keep slack where you want it.

For the price of the Astro 50 I got professional studio headphones and a sound card. Actually it was $50 cheaper....

BOSE QC25

I got a pair of those as a Christmas party gift from my company.  For $300.00 headphones you could do a whole lot better.  My Sennheiser and Grado cans easily beat them.
