iw3mp.exe error

Hi, im sure you all know about this one, however i have never had it till i started playing on the MW2 ft server. I crash so often after playing that mod so i dont play it much anymore. I updated PB manually, updated all my drivers basically everything was done. I play in the test server for the girls guys tourney today and afterwards i start crashing again with the iw3mp.exe failure. As i said ive never had this problenm before playing this new mod, is there anyway the mod has a bug or is there some other explination coz ive done all i can my end, it never happens on any other server i play on. Any help appreciated. Cheers!

you need to uninstall PB itself.. and reinstall it.

in french sorry : pour ma part j es eu aussi ce genre de pb et quand je change le mod en mod xi par exemple

(freeze) iw3 ne me plante plus .Essayer peut etre seulement cela suffit pour votre erreur iw3 a moins que personne ne puisse traduire mon message

i had this problem on windows 7 32 bit 

but it wasnt really annoying, game crashed a few times/week

 

now i have a new system, on windows 7 64bit, and cod4 crash all the time

not sure whats going on, but the game just freeze, then i get black screen and sound loop

untill the pc reboot.

 

not sure its the same problem u got, but its been 3 days now im searching for a fix, i tried almost everything in vain.

 

what are your specs nitro ?

 

 

@Jack, uninstall pb and reinstall it didnt fix the problem here

I had major Pb problems on test server.Tiny Dick oh i mean Sob had to take my place.

See if this will work for you.Make sure you have a mic plugged in.If your using onboard sound go to Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Sound/Recording Tab,Right Click in the window and choose"Show Disabled Devices" - "Stereo Mix" should appear,Right Click and choose enable,click OK.

i didnt have 'stereo mix' at all in the recording tabs.

 

so i DL and installed latest Realtek drivers

and i enabled stereo mix

 

my freezing problems still there, but are a bit different now, 

i get some FPS lag spikes then freezing

 

i noticed that my voice sounds arent audible at all, u know the 'woohoo' that i love to spam all the time, i dont hear em at all

but maybe its a sign that audio settings/drivers are causing problems, i guess

 

this start to piss me off, u buy new stuffs, very expensive and u get more problems

Run the DPC latency tool and see if you have any latency which will cause drop outs .If its high start disabling devices in device manager until you identify the device driver causing the problem.If its sound try different drivers,the newer Realtek drivers have caused problems for some.

I went through this same shit on a Dell XPS system and never could figure out what was causing it. I even disabled onboard sound and installed a sound card; I screwed around with voltage settings - you name it - nothing fixed it.

k, i think its latest nvidia drivers problem, i just read lot of same crashes reports with those drivers

but thing is i tried several drivers before.

but it was before installing realtek ones, hmmpf

will try other drivers and chickenfinger crossed

Newer nvidia drivers are optimized for the 4xx series cards.What card are you running?If it's a 2xx series the 197.45's are recommended for that series.

brand new gtx470, well everything is new

but other drivers didnt fix the problem either

 

i cleaned with ccleaner, but it didnt fix anything

 

as the computer is brand new, i think i will just reinstall everything, the os ,...

because it really start to piss me off

 

note: just before it freeze/crash, i notice that ingame overlays like hud, all that is gone, and the image change colors, and freeze

Ok im running good now, i read bout the stereo mix but i already had that enabled. I swapped out my headset to diff ports nothing. I reinstalled PB and manually updated, nothing. I re installed game and re patched, udated all my drivers sound and graphic still crashed everytime i when to join game in multi player, i could stay in menu all i wanted but the moment i pressed join game it crashed. I then uninstalled and when through my pc and deleted every game file i had and then reinstalled. didnt insert my saved profile,mods and maps and i could join game no worries. I deleted mw2 ft mod plus testmod then inserted all my saved files and havent been back into those two servers and everything fine so far. I have no frikken idea wtf is going on, i have 64 bit windows i wonder if 32 bit PB is a prob on 64 bit O/S? As for my specs i just play on laptop at the mo i still not finished my build im currently doing to replace it. I have never had any probs with iw3mp.exe untill this new mod. I am running now so all good, coz re installing is a pain in the ass!

 I updated to latest Nvidia drivers and it screwed with my system lol i had to roll it back to stop it being weired lol. Cant wait to get my build finished!

CHKN what are the temps for your card,is it overheating?Also ccleaner won't clean all the driver leftovers,I recommend Driver Sweeper 2.5.0 for that.

Its the latest note book driver on nvidas site, however its a third party software so not sure, really erratic behaviour after install couldnt get rid of it fast enough. When u do re install check in your program files to make sure all files were uninstalled because after uninstalling i still had files left over  and it wasnt till i deleted my activision folder in program files (x86) that my problems stopped. In one day i reinstalled 3 times. It wasnt till the third time that i found these left over files deleted them and re installed, prob fixed.....so far lol

the card isnt overheating

i jsut used msi afterburner to check in game temps and other stuffs, but i didnt OC anything, 

it stay under 72°c, and it seems pretty normal for that gpu

Yea those temps are good.Have you tried disabling nvidia hd audio to rule out an IRQ conflict?

 

 1.  go into device manager- go under display adapters,gtx470, properties and see what it says for 
     location.. E.G. "PCI bus xx"
2. go under system devices
3. you will see two HD audio devices.. check them both to see which one matches your GTX 470 pci bus
    location.  disable (not uninstall) the one that matches your 400 series card.
4. check under sound devices and it should no longer be there.

 

The newest beta drivers(260.63) have a new installer that lets you do a custom install where you can choose not to install the HD audio driver.

but i still crash.

also when i reinstalled cod4, the game was running at a very low resolution and not widescreen

if i click on set automaticaly settings thing, it didnt change anything, not sure if its normal or not

but its like cod4 dont detect the gpu ?

and i believe its the same problem i got in starcraft, so now i have the feeling this pci-e ssd is interfering with the gpu

i will post on ocz forum, maybe they got an idea

 

these problems are a real chalenge lol its kinda exciting, but annoying at same time

ive had this problem at different lvls since starting to play cod. I lost my game and had to reinstall ala utorrent and didnt have the problem at all, until i changed my settings between outboard audio and my headset. I dont have it that much anymore. Alls i know is that it has occurred with so many folks and the fixes i've seen have been spotty at best. Good luck and i hope you find something to make it a little better dude.
