Today, on the TDM server it worked well as we discussed.  Our hope is that it works better for all on the server.  It will make a big inpact for the CTF maps for sure.  Of course there may (will) be people trying to test the will, but as we said there will always be recourse if needed.  Nice work Pain!

Just passing this your way but I am going to try a couple of things in the server as a trial

I want to look at fixing the issue we have with Auto Balance. Currently, the server sets people into teams as soon as they join the server, and then scrambles it again in the next map; auto selecting peoples teams, even the spectators. What this means is that the server will try to auto balance spectators.
The idea that I propose is to turn off the team auto-select, meaning that you can now choose your own teams. This stops the server from giving you a team automatically, and it should then stop the auto-balance not moving people around. However, there is a down-side to this; this will invite team stacking. People want to play with their mates, which is great and all but it can end up with teams being 6-4 etc. I would like to think that people have the decency to still choose auto select. 
To combat this inevitability, the server will check every 15 seconds if the teams are balanced and if not, it will move someone. Again, if it moves someone and they move themselves back to where they used to be, I will warn you. If you do it again, I will kick you. It may end up moving people all the time, but this is something I want to try out at least. 
This will be live for tomorrow, and will run for tomorrow to see how it goes. 
I have also added some new sniper maps to the server, which will break it up a bit more because I was using old maps from old rotations.

Why did you join XI?
I learned the hard way good servers take money and good people in order to work and to find a server set up the way I liked it instead of trying to get a server or clan to change it's MOD. I enjoyed almost everyone when I first started playing here and the servers ROCKED. I played with 2 other players from our old Clan and after about 8 months Rugger asked me to see if the group would join. So we decided to give it a shot and been here ever since.

Thanks for explaing here.  PK, and myself have had several conversations on this topic in the past.  There is no team stacking going on.  The Tdm server runs a mix of sniper, run & Gun, and CTF.  Just imagine if you were playing CTF and the teams were 6 vs 2 how fun would that be if you were on the latter team?  This is where auto balance is needed, but many times won't work due to the people in spec.  As PK said, he moves the last person in game from the over balanced team.  That's it really.  The stacking blame game is just not holding water.  It's clearly done to make it better.  If peeps think there is something wrong in the servers then bring it to an ADM, or just post here in the fourms and it will get pick up.

This won't be too long but this has been coming for a little while now. I want to bring attention to an issue that has been getting to me lately on the TDM server.
Accusations of team stacking and moving people around. I want to put this out there and tell you that any accusations are false.
Why?
Auto-assign. That's it. I do not have any control over the teams in game. The server automatically sorts players into teams when they join. They do not get a choice of what team they get to choose. The reason auto-assign was enabled in the first place was to STOP team stacking. We're all guilty of it because we all want to be with our friends on certain maps. I can understand that but on the other side, it made the teams very stacked. We had all the good players on one team, all the crap ones on another, etc. By enabling auto assign, we remove the team stacking.
The reason people accuse me of team stacking is purely because of a lack of understanding on their part. When you join the server, you're given a number. For example, player A, B, C, D and E are numbered 0-4 respectively and the server uses these numbers to assign you a team as soon as the map starts. This gets shuffled around every map. The reason it may be 4v1 at the start of a map is because of the way the server has assigned numbers to teams. You just need to get out of spec and you'll be put where the server wants you. If we get three admins on one team, well we do. That's just how the server assigned us. It doesn't care about your name or your status. You're a number to the server.
Which leads me on to my next point. Moving players around.
I ONLY MOVE THE LAST PLAYER THAT JOINED TO EVEN OUT THE TEAMS
If the teams are drastically outbalanced and auto-balance doesn't work then I will step in. Say someone joined the Axis team bringing them to 5 players, and the Allies were at 3. If auto-balance didn't work then I will MOVE that person to the Allied team to make them 4v4. If you were the last person in then I am sorry, that's just bad luck on your part.

I find the accusations hurtful and disrespectful and I've had to write this to address those issues. I will not take that disrespect towards me, especially false accusations. I've worked my ass off for years, even before becoming an Admin, to keep this server the best it has been. This server is my baby and quite frankly I'm getting frustrated with all the shit getting flung because something doesn't work right. There are some things on the server that are out of my control and please understand what I am saying from an admins point of view. To keep the servers fair and fun for all players.
I don't want to be putting my foot down, but I will if I need to.
