  1. A new error message, today: "Leaving the server"! WTF does that mean?! Yes, I left the server but not voluntarily and no Admins were involved in my eviction. Updating Punkbuster, by the way, just seems to have made matters worse! Just makes my slow crawl through the middle ranks that much slower...
  2. I did wonder if the continual failure to update cloud data was connected so I disabled that for a while with no positive effects. Occasional Punkbuster kicks persuaded me to update that. I found I was running a version from November 2013! The immediate result was that I couldn't even get into the games - every time I connected to a server, I was kicked by PB again! So, I repaired the game and the PB kicks seem to have stopped for the time being. The disconnections between maps have not - it is still rare for me to be able to play without a return to the battlelog to reconnect.
  3. Can't you read? I said, "FFS, Hxtr, give it a rest!" Retired now so I am having a rest.
  4. @@Sonovabich I am afraid it is you who are mistaken and, given my 30 years of experience in English criminal law, I trust you will believe me that the courts take a dim view of those who publicly discuss live criminal proceedings in this country. The relevant law is the Contempt of Court Act 1981 and the Attorney General issued specific advice to users of social media earlier this year. Those who flout this law do invariably spend time in prison. Whilst the readership of the XI forums is lower than Facebook or Twitter, the fact that is is accessible via Google searches does mean that a wider readership could be assumed, thereby potentially bringing within the provisions of the legislation. Therefore, a wise rule of thumb is that, when there is a trial pending or in progress, STFU!
  5. You were trying to determine the UK price as I recall and I have it for you: £38.95
  6. RIP Alvin Stardust

  8. It is entirely plausible. A similar warning went out over here two weeks ago, as the Guardian newspaper reported (see below) and the same paper also reported the subsequent arrests (on which I shall make no comment as doing so during live proceedings could get me locked up). http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/oct/10/terrorist-chatter-raises-threat-level-uk-police http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/oct/17/four-men-charged-terror-arrests-london
  9. Canada is no stranger to mass casualty terrorist attacks. For example, see Air India Flight 182: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_India_Flight_182
  10. A dangerous road to follow. If the criteria included vehement opposition to the status quo and ready access to firearms, where would all those Americans be confined? I know it goes against the grain but one must trust the authorities, who have access to the real-time intelligence, to make informed decisions.
  11. Whilst I concur with your sentiments towards the Canadian people who have to deal with the effects of these attacks, not least the poor families of those killed and injured, I think you are being premature in your assessment that the perpetrators were immigrants or foreign. A full investigation has not been concluded and we all know that previous fatal attacks on both US and British soil have been carried out by our own citizens who had been radicalised.
  12. Today is the 209th anniversary of the defeat of the Franco-Spanish fleet at Trafalgar by the British commanded by Lord Horatio Nelson, one of our greatest national heroes. Many of us have long called for this to be a national holiday in the UK but these calls have been ignored, presumably because another reminder of how we beat the French and Spanish would upset some people. So, to hell with the PC brigade and I raise a glass to the memory of Lord Nelson! Rule Britannia! Turn up the volume!
  13. Thoughts and prayers with you at this most difficult of times, Puppy.
  14. The official web site still says "Autumn 2014" as the release period. The 21st is here but the DLC isn't so the information appears to have been erroneous.
  15. Happy Birthday, Dean (and stop feeding owls cookies... ).
  16. The stream won't play for me.
  17. Sorry @@Sonovabich
  18. A lovely part of the world. We've enjoyed several holidays down there but on the north coast near Bude with day trips down to the southern and western areas. Do you visit home much these days?
