Infernal scientific dabbling, if you ask me! I don't want no stinkin' drunk pill followed by a sober pill! I want a nice beer or several, brewed from natural ingredients (Czech, German or English) and in a quantity I deem appropriate. We spent an evening without power, during the summer, when there was a major fault at a local electricity sub-station. It was, perhaps, the most boring experienced in decades! None of the technology worked apart from a battery-powered radio... It took us back to the black-outs of the troubled 1960s and '70s when power station workers went on strike!

Having a cigarette outside in the courtyard with one of our lunch guests today, I was mildly shocked to hear this song coming from the open kitchen window...
