  21. Okay, here's another long traditional, maybe you have already. Powdered Sugar Cookies/Balls Again, none of these are Christmas "themed", just long time traditions we only have then. Also note hey all have nuts, like us! Enjoy! Powdered Sugar Cookies 2 Cups - Flour 1/2 Cup - Powdered Sugar 1/2 lb. - Butter 1 Tspn - Vanilla 1/4 Cup - Crushed Pecans 1 Tspn - Baking Powder Mix all together, then form into balls. Bake 350-375 until edges turn light brown (around 12-15 mins). Roll in an separate small amount of powdered sugar once right out of the over, then a bit later when cool.
  22. Maple Cookies Cookie Part 2 - Eggs 1/2 cup - Margarine 1 cup - Brown Sugar 1/2 cup - Sugar 1 cup - Sour Cream (or Evaporated Milk) (we prefer E-milk) 1 Tblspn - Maple Flavoring 2 3/4 cups - Flour 1/2 Tspn - soda 1 tsp - salt 1 Cup - Chopped Walnuts Makes two and a half dozen Mix, margarine, sugars and eggs thoroughly. Stir in sour cream (or evaporated milk) and maple flavoring Sift together flour, soda and salt. Blend into mixture. Add nuts and chill dough for 1-3 hours. Drop rounded tablespoons onto greased baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake 10-12 minutes at 375 - until almost no imprint when touched lightly. When cool, frost with glaze. Glaze portion 1/2 Cup - Butter 2 Cups - Sifted Confectioners Sugar 2 Tspn - Maple Flavoring 3 or 4 Tblspn - Hot Water Heat 1/2C butter until golden brown in sauce pan. Stir in confectioners sugar and maple flavoring and hot water. Stir until mixture is a smooth, sticky fluid. We use a BBQ brush to brush across the maple cookies. Work fast, since glaze will solidify quickly. Hmmmm!!
