  1. I think we're pretty well done with this - we have responses from senior and head admins, nothing is going to change about the way things are, and nothing is being achieved apart from pissing each other off. Even Cheese has decided to speak up, always a sure sign that it's time to stop whatever discussion was going on before he says something that makes sense and forces someone to agree with him. No adult should be forced to go through that humiliating trauma. Lock it down mr admin sir.
  2. I'm pretty sure that by the time I can be bothered to put this effort in either the bug is patched and the camo shows up normal on FLIR, or FLIR is nerfed, or BF5 is released, or Escape from Kharkov is released and proves to be fun to play instead of Battlefield. Yeah, I'm lazy. so sue me.
  3. The camo suit is a white camo which does not show up on FLIR scopes. So instead of white figures on a black background you see a black figure on a black back ground, who is holding a white rifle. But the suit itself is white so it's not so great against people using normal optics.
  4. *Europe* Feclez Goesje ¿Bor? Jay80 Mupphovsmannen IJHicks Barron3000 Olive yamiryuuou Google CrustyBreadroll Krackennutz SimoV49 *America* Angry Johnny Gingersnaps B-Murda papithegun John Crichton OK so so far it's 13 vs 5. (I'm including Bor though I'm not sure he's meant to confirm or not... please do let us know on that one.) This is a much better start already, we at least have enough people to make two teams of 9 if we shuffle some EUs into the Americas team. We'd need to get some of the Europeans "batting for the other team" of course. If we have lopsided teams I don't mind spectating and recording the round, so we'll make that work. In the mean time please keep motivating our American friends, clan mates and regulars to show up and shoot shit with us
  5. There are LOADS of benefits to being a member in the BF4 servers. 1. you get prioritized in the queue. That means if you join a queue of 7 (and you do, because the servers are really popular because we DON'T do things like kicking for members...) you get priority over normal players, even the ones with Premium, so you're always in before non-members. 2. you can get on the ignore list for the sniper-limit script. Normally, if you're the 6th person to sit his fat ass in the spawn sniping at people you get killed by the limit. If you're a member, you can have that limit ignored so you can snipe happily away, and even taking a sniper slot from a non-member, forcing them to play with some other weapon. 3. if you tell an admin a player is fucking with you, you get immediate response and reaction. Unlike random Joes and Janes, the admins know you, and they're a lottle more likely to take your word for it. (Bans obviously require some proper evidence, but a warning or even a kick for genuine assholes is a LOT easier for members to get done on the fly.) 4. you get to show off you XI tags, which are universally accepted to be confirmation of coolness. There are clans out there that kick for their members to get in. After a few weeks, the regulars stop coming and you no longer need to kick for members. And then pretty soon you don't need to upkeep the server because all your members have gone to fuller servers.
  6. I made some evidence to support my claim that I do not in fact camp, ever. Also please remember it's only a few weeks to the Americas vs Europe XI scrim and we have virtually no players from the Americas so go poke the regulars and tell them to sign up!
  7. OK so as you were spamming links to this in teamspeak all evening yesterday for no obvious reason other than to crave attention, I'm guessing that means you do want constructive feedback. You posted a video of Leballski apparently "hacking" because he shot some people. If this video shows what you consider to be worth-looking-at gameplay, no wonder you think he's hacking. The amount of cool things happening in this video is ... wow. Just wow. Now please stop spamming me, and very seriously stop harassing me in TS and on Battlelog.
  8. Do you want constructive criticism, or are you just putting up things you like?
  9. Unless you're a clan member and your flag is flying in your profile I don't know what team to put you in - please mention that for me. In othe rnews: we're a month away and have a slight imbalance between Europeans and Americans. We need to get more yanks in, or this isn't going anywhere.
  10. Ok so the game mode got mentioned. I agree with Barron that team play would be lacking in DOM and TDM. Also DOM and TDM is what we play anyway so that's not really very interesting. Rush I do not think is the best idea - that becomes VERY lopsided when you can defend a choke point with 2 guys and block an army of 8. It usually falls apart when there are small numbers of players online. Squad Rush no longer exists. We COULD do Rush but we'd have to pick a map tailor made to fit the team size we have. Obliteration (also Squad Obliteration exists) is fun and a rare mode because it got taken out of rotation by someone... I'd quite like a round of that jut for shits and giggles. It's a good thing to teamplay and we've had some seriously epic madness on Obliteration in the past. Plus the fact it has a Squad mode (small teams) means we should be in to that with a shout of getting two fitting teams together. Capture the Flag works well with small teams and enforces team play. In fact I prefer CTF with small teams because it becomes easier to move the flag around the map without a constant barrage of sniper shots. Defuse might work as it is essentially Counter Strike from a decade and a half ago on BF4's engine, and it's geared towards small teams. I'm not sure everyone joining has the patience to get shot and then sit around for 5 minutes while the rest of the round gets played out though. Chain Link is more suited to larger teams in my opinion, as is Conquest - which we also play every day anyway. Carrier Assault is going to be too bit for two small teams. I haven't mentioned Air Superiority. I'd like everyone else to follow that example. Gun Master in itself doesn't suit team play, but if we wanted to we could use this mode to play a round of "one kind of weapon only" TDM. Because you can configure the weapon path you can for instance set up you need 15 bow kills to progress to the next level. the next level being victory. now I know that I'm not normally given to democratic proceedings in anything I organize (because it never works and it wears on my nerves) but in this case I'm happy to take suggestions and feedback on what you guys think. Ideally we should play 3 or 4 rounds max, since that'll take up 2 to 3 hours of everyone's time which appears to be sort of the limit for a lot of people. We can, but do not need to, play different modes every round as far as I'm concerned. If you like a given mode but only on a given map please shout out.
  11. confirmations thus far: *Europe* Feclez Goesje ¿Bor? Jay80 Mupphovsmannen IJHicks Barron3000 Olive yamiryuuou Google *America* Angry Johnny Gingersnaps B-Murda *Fuck knows, no flag in profile* papiethegun
  12. confirmations thus far: *Europe* Feclez Goesje ¿Bor? Jay80 Mupphovsmannen IJHicks Barron3000 Olive yamiryuuou *America* Angry Johnny I think it's safe to say the odds are in favour of Europe for DOM, but would be radically in favour of the Americans if we play TDM (because it's so much easier to play 1 vs lots, especially with friendly fire on.)
  13. I put this in the public BF4 forum because we have a lot of interest from regulars who are not XI members, so if you and your TT friends want to join in, you're welcome.
  14. Someone made this topic: https://www.xtremeidiots.com/topic/58661-north-america-vs-europe/page-2 But, no admin can be bothered to try herding you cats. Can't blame them, really. You're hard enough to live with in a normal game, never mind a proper scrim. Howevr, I manage unmanageable people for a living so... As of this moment I'm taking control of this event. Maybe it'll actually happen then The FAQ: The date, and time: Sunday, April 17th. 19:00 Central Europe (18:00 UK, 1 PM US Eastern) The location: Use the otherwise empty small maps BF4 server? I'll poke an admin about sorting this out for us - it'll need locking and we'll want to announce to the regulars that it's closed for an hour or two. The hang-out: We will want a TS channel for everyone and probably some tactical subchannels - one per team at least. I'll see if I can make an admin help us with this. Not North-American nor European and want to play too? Show up and we'll throw you in whatever team needs a hand How do I sign up? Post in this topic if you intend to show up. Sides will be picked on the day with people put in their own regional team whee possible making sure the teams have similar sizes. What can I play as? A BF4 player, what the fuck this isn't comic-Con just play a fucking game of BF4 what the hell dude. So Who's coming so far? Confirmed: DuckyofDeath Interested: Feclez papithegun hong_kong_shoey Bor2013 Nosleep (<- admin!) Goesje AngryJohnny Jay80 (<- admin!) MrBubbles iboomboom Olive HellKid Kadaverke HellTigris Google (FU) MrFitt Stringer Muppshofluffle the Unpronounceable (nevermind remembering how to fucking spell it) codpiece TODO list: - Get TS channels sorted - Get server access sorted - Get an admin to change maps and start game etc. - Have a big argument about which maps, then arbitrarily pick 3 that Ducky likes - Argue about game modes before deciding on Domination - Make list of players def showing up to ensure people actually show up. - Do all the things you forgot to put on this list. - Make this topic sticky until the event.
  15. Got ticktes to go see this guy on Saturday His opening act was this guy, who I found to be fucking brilliant.
  16. You know how all the 16yr olds tell you to eat shit every time you have a nice effective camping session? Well...
  17. If we do do traditional English cuisine, can we do something interesting and tasty on the other night?
  18. I like all of those, but Italians are, literally, over 50% of all the restaurant options within an hour's drive of me, probably because of all the Italians in this part of Germany. So I'd be most in favor of something different than that. Tapas is nice and easy to get everyone something they like. I'd like that option a lot. Is nobody else going in a day early?
  19. Ironically, the head of state most likely to get discussed is the American one. I mean, if ANY politics come up, it's liable to be the US. I'm not advocating it, but it might happen. As for the drinking... well, I'm typing this having just had three Irish Coffee's (well, with Monkey Shoulder, which is Scotch, but never mind) because my cream was about to go off so I had to finish it off
  20. So, to recap: the video which is compressed all to fuck, shows a guy shooting fairly accurately, but not stupidly so, at people who are hard to see because of the smoke and fire. But, as mentioned, the compression of the video is so horrendous that you an't really tell if he could have seen the person or not and watching the video twice you can see where the hidden player is in view for a split second before he get a hole poked in him. and, if you really really look closely, you can see that despite the compression you can see shapes moving in the fire/smoke. Which is what the guy is sniping at. The guy also misses several shots, inches next to the target. If he were using an aimbot or auto-shoot bot, that wouldn't have happened. Him firing 6 shots for 5 kills is pretty damned sweet, no doubt about it, but all but one of the targets were sitting still. And the moving one he needed 2 shots. I just don't see that supposed aimbot. If you check his stats you'll see he's consistently in the "good but not cheating" range on accuracy and headshots across all his weapons. Assault rifle accuracy around the 20% mark is what you expect from the sort of top-end player that dominates any public server, especially one with such a low average skill as the XI ones. Apparently you've forgotten how low the average skill on here is, if you think that this is evidence of hacking. You may not like the guy, but your idea of hat's impossible is speaking volumes about your own skill level. Just because you can't do it, doesn't mean it's impossible.
  21. Do not worry codpiece. We will find a way to make you uncomfortable. Maybe several ways.
  22. It's official, flying in on Thursday and flying out on Sunday. I don't suppose it's time to start begging for a ride one way or the other yet?
  23. Well, you're not on a date, you're on a weekend's piss-up with the guys and (so far, as far as I've deduced) approximately one gal. We'll be aiming for a place that serves acceptable food for a price that doesn't begin worrying too many of us. That could well end up being Spoons, but as in all things in life, these things work best when people think of solutions, not problems: so grab Google by the scrotum and make it give you a list of nearby eateries, then list some that you like the look of and we can all chime in. Except Jay, because I remember him suggesting Burger King on teamspeak. So if he suggests that, he's not flying to York, he's taking the train. To Germany. Dachau, to be exact.
