  1. Is your ARMA current and did you download @Epoch correct version? The end result should be a folder called @Epoch in your ARMA2 folder, which has all the stuff for Epoch in it. If memory serves the .zip file you download is called @epoch_version.zip and once you unpack it, it contains the @epoch folder, so you need to move that into your ARMA folder. Or, get ARMA 2 launcher. Necause frankly, getting arma mods to work is challenging for anyone.
  2. Does this mean the game is nearly worth buying?
  3. Get roaring drunk my little British IT mister! You're going to want to, especially if you're foolish enough to turn on a telly tonight.
  4. All ducks are awesome, some are more awesome than others. Well done Sitting Duc, I think you're owed a drink or two in Berlin.
  5. Does this mean if I reinstall BF4 i will see something has changed?
  6. This topic, and the other one really, is full of cranky old men complaining loudly about... well, everything really. But are you playing BF4 and enjoying yourself with your clanmates? Are you doing your bit to make our server great again? No. You're just doing your bits to make XI look like a bunch of wankers at the EA forums. Admittedly that's an important task and it's good someone is doing it, and I can think of no better people to do it, but do also go in and help the BF4 server start up and be popular a bit, will you? I can't make it, I'm making people throw their mouse at their screen in ARMA. (if you're wondering, I'm seeing how angry I can make the cranky old men. Congrats for reading this far. I put it this far back so the angry people will have already begun replying angrily and it's small because they're all old and they won't be able to read this.)
  7. All caps title. Like us, they have rules for their forum.
  8. While I personally am not sure I'm going to be spending a lot of time on BF4 again (although an occasional romp around might be good fun) I've already began lobbying to get other players to join you. In really unexpected places. He was so enthousiastic about this idea he stopped complaining about "some absolute asshole" camping on rooftops in a big city and spent some time talking about how he liked our BF4 server and didn't like BF1. I don't think he ever realized who the asshat camper on the rooftop was... Let's not tell him shall we?
  9. We need to find some other activity for the BF players to undertake together if we want to keep them together then? How about a trip to Berlin?
  10. Booked. Also I booked a cot in one corner of my room for John Wambo who said he hadn't got a room yet... we may have a surplus bed on the date.
  11. Who cares about the stupid gun, are there servers yet?
  12. Merci Olive, It feels weird having spent hours with the guy on Teamspeak and having no clue who he was. The photo is a nice touch. I don't do prayers, but I do do condolences. I'm sorry.
  13. Except if Eddtheduck shows up. He's got dibs too
  14. Like I said. First come first served. No problem
  15. COD4 was great. It really was. That was ever such a long time ago though.
  16. I have to say that the hassle of booking rooms en masse did give us better rates and also it locked down comers (mostly) because once you sign up and someone's money is in play, you're less capable of simply bailing out at the last minute. But this works for me. I haven't decided on fly or drive yet, I might drop by my step sister on the way up and take the duckmobile. If I do, I will b eable to ferry up to two idiots plus JohnRambo to and/or from an airfield to the hotel and back. (I owe JR a ride after York. Everyone else is first come first serve and if you're over 6ft you're going to have a BAD fucking day sitting behind my tall ass). Are we opening this up to regulars who aren't members again this year, or are we strictly members-only this time around? I have a feeling some of the Battlefield regular Zonks might be inclined to show up for a few beers.
  17. https://www.battlefield.com/us-en/news/article/battlefield-1-the-road-ahead for those of you who speak only a paltry two or three languages and none of them is dutch.
  18. Prices seem reasonable, considering the place is in downtown Berlin. I might go for the on-site parking, or I might fly, not sure yet (it's an eight hour drive for me...) but I deffo like the idea of it being in Berlin. Dates are far enough ahead that I can plan, this should be OK. Once we have the group of people penned in, we can discuss group discounts. i think 20 people is ambitious, especially given some people's tendency to say "yes, I'll come" and then ditching you towards the end. If you have paid an up-front charge and a few people don't show, that's your money gone. So we want to be a bit cautious with that. I do like that you've picked a place and a date without too much hassle. I can tell you're used to wrangling small children efficiently. Which is, essentially what this is, except less diaper changing. Well done you. I don't think we should orient our budget in GBP though, by July those are going to be worth less than 1€ and it will badly skew the price expectations of those of us not from the Land of Leaving. Let's try and do the math in Euros
  19. Gent's not a bad idea really. It is a major touristy type town with a lot of options for food drink and hotels. Two hours or less from several airports, driveable (easily!) from the Channel ferry to the UK and from most of the Netherlands as well. Even Olive could come by car if he wanted, for once I think that's one good suggestion to put on the list.
  20. Can we skip the phase where everyone just nominates wherever the fuck they happen to live just because that is easy for them? That's not clever, that's just selfish idiocy. Nobody wants to go to Buttcrackaroorah with it's 2 terrible pubs and choice of not one but two kebab shops plus a Burger King someone forgot to close. Parties of 20+ need space, stuff to do during the day, everything in walking distance from the hotel if possible, and lots of stops on our evening down the pubs. Do let's try to pick a city with a little thought to - nearby airports - large selection of places to go eaties and drinkies - decent priced hotels There are no countries in western Europe where you have a serious risk that the hotel staff do not speak English, so that is not a factor. What is a factor is that tiny towns esp in the Netherlands may have a handful of restaurants, all very expensive, which is going to ruffle feathers especially with the budgetarily handicapped. Enschede in particular doesn't look that clever a choice when you have people from anywhere else coming over: The UK is very affordable right now (Thanks Brexiteers! You're a cheap country now ) and prices for food, drinks and rooms are high in the Netherlands. I know a bunch of you live there, but it is pretty friggin' expensive. I'm not saying NL is a no-go, but I think we have to be honest and just admit the reason it's being suggested so much thus far is the people in this topic live there. Let's not completely forget about FR and DE because a big city in either of those might be a better choice than some of the suggestions seen so far.
