Grew up on the St. Lawrence River in a small town across from Prescott, Ontario. All my family - and my wife's - are French Canadian from the Montreal area and I just discovered that I have direct relationship to a saint. My great aunt, daughter of my ninth great grandparents, Christophe Dufrost de la Gemerais, who descended from an old noble family in France, and Marie Renee Gaultier, daughter of Rene Gaultier, governor of Trois-Rivieres, was Saint Margaret D'Youville. She founded the Gray Nuns of the Sacred Heart and was canonized by Pope John-Paul II in 1990, the first native-born Canadian to be declared a saint.
Shortly, I will be offering Indulgences for a small consideration. Meanwhile, go forth, yee Idiots, and sin no more.
