I don't know much about Windows 8 so not sure if any changes have been made with security. ! have always been cautious with the upgrades as I usually do a fresh install. More work but cleaner. However, did you do any backup before upgrading? Did you have and UAC enabled before the upgrade? If that is all the same, try making a backup of your profile if not done already and re-install COD4 and then restore your profile.

That's mean Dean. LOL. Seriously though, I don't use a mouse pad and I find that works well for me.
