  2. Hi all, This evening at approximately 11:00 PM JCSnipe went off on an unacceptable rant. I got annoyed at his on-going whining i.e "why are you all going there again to get shot. Go ahead and die then" etc. etc. ad-nauseum. Continuous bogarting of the mic with these comments. Others were also getting annoyed. I said something to the effect that it's just a game, stop your whining, take a break etc. He then started calling me a fag, calling black people the "N" word, making horrendous off-colour joked about black people, and that he was going to toss his >XI< tags anyway, so WTF! Gump, Belted, DeadToadKing (non-member) 24ktCanadian (non-member) and several others can verify. I got disgusted and asked him to leave, and I called him a redneck for his comments, and it got worse from there. The personal slurs were bad, the comments regarding gay and African Americans were worse. This violates our policy regarding racial and personal attacks. Thanks for your attention, - Astronomer
  3. Nice rig sir! LOVE the Haf X case. Looks nice and tidy inside too.
  4. I have the white one. Absolutely LOVE it. I added the raised palm rest and wider left-hand pinkie rest. Once you have a RAT, you never go back!
  5. Same here. Great sound, retractable and flexible mic boom, and you can take it apart into 3 pieces should you ever have the desire to do so!
  6. Spread the...ummm...joy, Chile! Congrats and thanks to the webnasters on an awesome job well done!
  7. LittleTooT Astronomer LOL! I'm a Cape Bretoner (which, by definition, is essentially a Newf that ran out of money on the way to Toronto), and that was damned funny and entirely plausible! I went to the University of Crayons and Colouring Books (UCCB) in 1990, from Louisbourg, spent most of my time at the rink and the Steel City Bar and Grill, lol I'm from Inverness (on the non-foggy side of the island :-) ) and spent many a Friday night trekking off to Sydney for a movie and a pint or 4. I moved out of NS 5 years ago and miss it dearly. Do you still live there? I'm going back to visit my parents in July. Apparently the new Cabot Links golf course in Inverness is making huge waves in the Whack/Fuck! world.
  8. Well, me son, I was drinkin' hard and it were cold, eh? So, I sees a big tractor-trailer and the door of the trailer was unlocked, so's I crawls in and when I woke meself up, the rig was in motion. Next thing I knows, I'm in Toronto! "Lord t'underin' Jayzus!" I says to meself! I panicked! I was scared that they don't sell Keith's ale in Toronto!
  9. [b30]Goat LittleTooT great song Man, I've seen these guys live a half-dozen times. Brings back lots of memories. My Barrett's Privateers story: in the early1990's, I was a student and working at the campus computer store. We were a non-profit, and we turned a profit, so we had to burn it. The boss booked us and significant others for a March weekend at the White point Beach Lodge on Nova Scotia's Atlantic coast. Myself, a co-worker and the boyfriend of our graphic artist were in the bar tossing back scotch on a blustery Saturday night. The three of us are over 6'2" with barritone voices. After several shots, we start singing Barrett's Privateers with much gusto. The only other people in the bar, a foursome, cheered us on with much laughter (with or at us, I'm not sure) and singing. Turns out they were Canada's most famous comedy troupe, the Royal Canadian Air Farce. Gracious people and incredibly down to earth.

  11. Great case, mobo, and SSD (I have the same parts)! You could save $100 and get an i5 2500k. It has 2Mb less cache and no multithreading, but will you ever do anything that requires it? The 2500k overclocks like a champ (I'm at 4.5Ghz on air using a Cooler Master V6GT with idle temps at 26°C and never over 39°C under load). A buddy of mine has both chips in different rigs, and says that he regrets shelling out for the i7 seeing as the i5 is its equivalent for gaming and is its equal for overclocking.
  12. 1Deerhunter TDM or as Mekketom said would be good for a change. You could also make it a little more tactical such as if you bunny hop your gun will point at the ground so you can't shoot at someone while your in the air. +1 on all points. A change-up to something more tactical would be great, especially with the neutralizing of shooting while hopping.
  13. Happy Birthday Bud. Hope the wife lets you play this weekend! ;-)
  14. If I read this correctly...in order to find work, Dolphin had to move 1.5 hours drive away from you to Montréal, yes?
  15. Wow. That really touched me Wizid. I have a friend who's wife is in a wheelchair. I'll show him your post and pictures - he's very handy and also devoted to his wife. This just might give him some ideas.
  16. I recently went with a Cisco WRVS4400N (formerly higher-end Linksys) because it has a more granular confiugration, and Tiger Direct had some re-furbs at a sweet price. I like the Quality Of Service (QOS) settings. I reserved one of its switch ports for highest priority and plugged my PC into that port. This doesn't noticeably affect my wife's web surfing, but it means that my packets are prioritized as highest priority. My in-game pings are consistently in the mid-high 50's, about 5 ping points better than before I made this change. You can also create up to 4 V-LANs (I have a guest V-LAN) and up to 4 VPN Connections. The wireless coverage is awesome throughout my 2-level home (2900 Square feet) and into my back yard and beyond my property (tested with my work BlackBerry). I'm an IT consultant, and this is the next best thing to a "pure" Cisco router, at 1/8th the cost. Even better would be a Linksys router that can run 3rd party firmwares such as Tomato http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato. You essentially get the features of a $800 router at 1/10th the cost. I have one, but the wireless capability is not where I need it to be. Wired, it kicks serious butt.
  17. AWESOME gaming card, sir! Congratulations on your new baby!
  18. ?Modern Weapons server? Yes. I'll give it a try. As someone said earlier, we can revert.
  19. Very poetic description Dark Asylumn. Back in 2003-2004 when I was still in Nova Scotia, I logged at least 38 evenings where I observed the Northern Lights. The sun was at the peak of it's 11-year activity cycle, and we're approaching another peak. The sun has certainly gotten more active. The best show was one evening where the entire sky was lit up in dancing waves of reds and greens, with a beautiful "auroral crown" overhead. I saw some folks walking down my street completely oblivious to the show overhead. Very sad... For daily info on what's up with the Sun, go to www.spaceweather.com.
  20. Yeah, this is the sort of thing that you can only watch in short bursts. It's only really funny if you've seen the movies umpteen times. Some of the scenes are damned clever. The intro rolling text is a hoot if you use any sort of forums on the Internet.
  21. Idiot! I accidentally hit the "Enter" key before I finished typing out the title!
  22. AWESOME! A crowd sourced scene-for scene re-creation of the first Star Wars movie. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time, and I've only made it through the first 20 minutes! 10/10!
  23. No, not MAC Addresses, just the assigned internal IP addresses for your network i.e. 192.168.1.107 or 192.168.0.103 etc. They will begin with "192.168". Your router assigns them dynamically via DHCP by default. You can assign static/permanent IP addresses for your systems. Best practice is to set the number range outside of the defaults, which usually have numbers that end at 101, 102, 103 etc. Your router signal will be very weak at the end of your driveway if you're 200 feet off the road, so I wouldn't be too worried. Also, if managing and configuring a router is fairly new to you and you want to minimize the hassle, keeping your SSID hidden will negate the need to change it monthly. Again, if it can't be seen, it can't be broken into.
  24. Yep, WPA2. You can also keep your SSID (whatever name you give your wireless connection) hidden. When you allow folks to connect to your wireless, you have to enter the SSID and the WPA2 password. If the neighbours can't see it, they can't access it.
