Usually the generic Trojans just hang out in the temp folder or the browsers cache. Occasionally they infect the registry. Those can be a pain in the ass to remove if you don't know what processes to kill before attempting to remove them. You have to watch downloading any videos or pictures off of Facebook. It's not quite as bad as it used to be but still. I've had to format many many computers because of that shit. People will intentionally "inject" a .gif or .jpeg or mp4 or even an mp3 full of junkware,maleware,spyware,trojans,hyjackers,ransomware and the occasional key logger.

If you have Symantec AKA Norton on your computer you are asking for trouble. lol That thing is like a magnet for viruses and crap.

Looks like they all came from your Temp folder. Empty your Temp folder and clear your browser cache ASAP. On another note: Over the years I have noticed that computers that I've worked on with Norton/symantec endpoint protection installed all seemed to have some sort of virus in them. Almost like the viruses are drawn in by the presence of Norton on your computer. Years ago I started using a Good Pop Up and AD blocker and I haven't had a single virus sense. My current blocker is by far the best one. I really like the features in AdGuard. The Free Firefox browser addon version is really good. But if you use other browsers they have an install-able version that covers all browsers. https://adguard.com/en/welcome.html symantec endpoint protection does use Alot of resources to. Just uninstalling it and installing something like Malwarebytes will speed up your "cumputer" quite a bit.

Steam auto installs 1.8 patch. We run 1.7 Download 1 of the 1.7 exe files that Timmah posted and replace your existing iw3mp.exe It should be in c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty 4 Or where ever drive you might have Steam installed on.

Those cheeky bastards DID have a Trojan embedded in QMCenter.exe GameBaby TQM Center. Looks like they just recently patched it out. Most likely cleaned due to having to be Microsoft Software Validation approved for the US/UK market. I would suggest that everyone that plays this should Uninstall the game and at-least empty your Temp folders and re-install it. They literally have 1/2 the Execution units of a quad core with hyper-threading. The CPU bottlenecks it's self when trying to run a poorly optimized program like most games are. A proper quad core will have 4 execution units (1 per core) where the Bulldozer has only 1 per every 2 cores then a Dispatcher or splitter. Basically 1/2 the throughput or bandwidth that it should have. Just very poorly designed. It does overclock like a motherfucker though. 3.5ghz stock and I've had mine to 5.3ghz. The AMD 8350 and 8320 hold the overclocking world records @ 8.794ghz (31 * 283.69 MHz) on a volt modded Asus CROSSHAIR V FORMULA-Z which is the same board that I am running. My CPU overclocked comes in very close to a Stock 2nd gen i7 2600k in synthetic benchmarks. But real world mine is a good bit slower in most single core applications. They fixed this issue with the release of the Ryzen CPUs. And No Doubt that They are damn good CPUs. I figured why the hell not go with Intel this time sense the price VS performance has become very comparative these days.
