Mine is installed C:\ program files(x86) \activision\cod2 not in C:\program files

it depends on where it is installed, find the folder that cod2 is and browse to that location and pick the .exe file and you will be good, don't bother to re-install

Go to firewall settings and pick "allow program through" a list of programs and check boxes should come up. Put a check mark next to PNK8strA, PNK8strB, and COD2 If these do not show up you nan add them at the bottom of the slection box

do you have the windows firewall running, if you do you have to allow cod2 and pb to pass through it, there are two pb process that have to be allowed through

I need to boost my processor power now because that seems to be holding my system back I used to buy ultra high end cards, but got sick of the damn things being 1/2 price in 6 months I think the 6850 is the best bang for the buck, if the 6870 is around for anyplace near this price then that would be the one

ok you all know I hate steam like the pos that it is. so I go to play BO today and get "Failed to load overlay localization file" another wonderful steam error I have to deal with...steam help and faq is a joke and did not help one bit. after quite a bit of searching and testing this is how I cured it. I removed this "clientregistry.blob" file from steam and had to restart steam twice and it updated, allowing me to play BO Anybody from steam that can hear this YOU SUCK ASS!!!! If I knew I had to deal with this crap before hand I would have never picked up BO

Tball maintain yes back up not so much what we do is we have a redirect folder users have in the folder anything that they want backed up but the user must place files in there that they want backed up. If you backed up every PC it would destroy every IT's budget. See that is my point. You re-direct the users doc folder to save it on the server and everybody is happy. the user does not know where the frig they a saving stuff, hell half the time I have users come to me because they saved something and they don't know where. then when you do the backup of the server, bingo the users files are backed up without you taking any extra effort. I don't see how that would make a dent into any budget. You are not backing up every computer, just the server. And when they ball up their computer you don't have to worry about them loosing their data

so nobody has done this? so I guess I will be the one to check it out

The point is most users have no clue, if they did we would not need IT guys If you do have a IT on staff it is his/her responsibility period. Been there done that, to turn it to the users problem is bullshit period. In the end any PC,Laptop or server owned by a company I run would be the IT managers responsibility to maintain.
