I am tired of dropping 300.00 + for a graphics card, I picked up a ATI6850 for 190.00, hope it is not a dog

If it was my business I would have all the desktops run from the server or at the very least have the files you normally save be saved to the server. That is very easy to do and since most sane business would do a nightly backup of that system, you would never have this problem. Your IT guy HAS HIS HEAD UP HIS ASS. He is making more work for himself having all this info on the PCs rather than on the servers. That can be a big issue if you have a messy breakup with a worker. Not very safe for the company You Guys need a TS server for apps, run all the desktops from there

I normally build a computer for myself once a year, but I have been so happy with this one (built it in 2008) I want to keep it. I see that I can use a AM3 processor in mine with a bios update "kool" I know I will loose about 5% using DDR2 memory, but a 6 core 3.2 Ghz processor would make a world of diff I would think I do have a new ATI6850 graphics card, so I think this would be the ticket I have a MSI k9A2 Platium and would have to say it has been the best motherboard I ever used and I have used every major brand you could think of Question Has anybody run the AM3 in a AM2 board?....no guessing please just those that have done it. If so, how do you like the combo?

maybe windows update screwed up your firewall settings, I would check and see what programs it is set to allow to connect to the internet PnkbstrA PnkbstrB Callofduty4 need to be allowed I had my punkbuster screw up and I found it was unchecked in my firewall, never changed it myself, I think it was updates that caused it I would also try re-loading DX9

I have COD4 on my system, I never re-loaded COD2 when I rebuilt my system, I figured most people would be moving on. COD2 is a great game and 2 min into the game you forget about the graphics. Hell I stll got the org COD around here someplace and the add-on

Maybe I am missing something, I just paid 60 bucks for this game and all I see is a pain in the ass I been around computers and build them on a regular basis for the last 20 years so I am not a newbe. 1. Steam sucks, if I buy a game why should I have to be tied to this crap ( I did know that coming in) But not impressed 2. How do you manually put a server IP in on the server browser....guess I am to lazy to read up, but why should I have to on something so basic? 3. when available how do I pick / change weapons for the custom slots? I never had to crack a book or read an instruction to deal with any COD game before and I don't see where this is anything special compaired to COD 4
