Ended up going with xfinity. Talked to my current local DSL provider earlier just to see what kind of speeds they can do. Been with them for a very long time and they have always provided great service. So wanted to give them a shot as well even tho without the big bundle discounts it would cost me more. Always something to be said for local companies all other things being equal. However in my area I already have the best they can reliably provide. Equipment not upgraded enough where I am and a bit too far away from where it is enough. In recommending faster service the tech also said that ATT suffers from much the same problem. If they try to sell 25 down, expect 1/2 of that max where I live. But also that Comcast can provide what they sell. So just general family tv, 25 internet, and phone. I doubt I would ever need 50 or more but could always upgrade if I need to. I would rather use the $10 for hulu or something else. I hedged but in setting it up I chose to lease a cable modem. I will look around to see who sells what. If I see something I like I suppose I can call them back and change that saying it was a mistake. Anyone have recommendations? Tried to get both of my email addys transferred to them for convenience. One did one didnt. Too common. Funny thing is, in thinking up different addys for a laugh and to see if it would work, being a Macross fan I tried sherylnome as a comcast address. Nobody took it. Including the production company. Its pretty common for such companies to take everything so nobody has names like lukeskywalker as an email address. At least from the big providers. So I took it.

You are quite sure you had armor piercing? It works quite well. There were times I was testing things on the server... and gave myself a shitload of armor so I wouldnt constantly die since I didnt shoot people... and players with AP would almost always get me in one shot anyways. Unless they did less than 30 damage for whatever reason. If someone goes 50 and 9 its very unlikely he got deathstreak armor of course. Possibly care package armor but that is only 30 points. Another rare but possible scenario is 30+30+30 for a health-startarmor-cparmor combo. So going after someone with 90 points is going to be tough. At 90 few weapons will kill in two shots without stopping power even if close range and no obstructions. Some might say its unfair. But it only works once unlike juggy that lasts forever. For info, the SAW does 30 points damage max per round at optimum range. This is the standard game setting not mine. Which is why I like the 40 points from the RPD better. One way to get that 90. If you call in your package, and the random choice is armor, leave it there. Change your loadout the next time you are frozen to get the perk armor. Get the package. 90 points. However in doing so you are choosing not to get stealth or another perk. You also choose not to reroll for a tac nuke. So getting that one time only 60 points is pretty expensive but if people want to spend it thats their choice.

No its not about realism. Otherwise I would enable the functions that cripple you when hurt. Shot in the leg, you can only crawl. Shot in the torso, you bleed to death...similar to everyone automatically getting Venom. Shot in the arm, you cant use your weapon. Gotta use those health packs to save yourself. But it is about fairness, unpredictability and fun. Also, for new players you want to encourage them to pick up a gun and fight not camp because they dont want to die from a missing little finger. Maybe later add a new battle chatter. "Inconceivable!" Besides, the whole idea of hardcore is a misnomer. Hardcore should be just that... hard. Killing an enemy by blowing off his pinky is just lame. But I suppose everyone wants to be Luke Skywalker blowing up the massive Death Star by attacking the small thermal exhaust port just below the main port. Maybe I should do a new perk. The Force.

Ok, will reiterate then. Assuming starting 30 point perk-only body armor and perhaps a death streak (amount depending on 3/5/7 deaths) yes this can happen. Also care package armor. Since its one of the two most common rewards (the other being ammo) there can be quite a bit of it especially in a full server. Tho it is unlikely someone with deathstreaks get care packages unless they steal them from an enemy. But if its 30 + 30 (health + perk armor) then two shots will kill, not accounting for outside factors that affect everybody in the game. The choice of weapon. Silencer. Range. If you are firing through an obstruction (which can be more than just simple walls) with a silencer its a double whammy. Its a fast moving game with a lot of spraying and hip fire. And yes, sometimes players will think there are two hit markers when there was only one. Players look at the enemy not screen elements. Sorry but thats the truth. If someone has all this armor because he is a poor player give him a break. Its just meant to give him a chance instead of constantly being frozen and scratching his ass while he waits for one of you to defrost him. I *could* maybe do something where headshots do more damage against those with armor because realistically it is more significant than the torso. But I am not taking it out. However if I do that then the opposite with hit location modifiers should be enabled. If headshots are supposed to be considered heavier damage then feet and hands should be lighter damage. You can all discuss and see if this trade off is fair.

I watched both vids posted yesterday. I didnt see anything out of the ordinary. Except perhaps a tendency to always keep to the same locations.

There is a second mw2 mod freezetag server. Used mostly for checking out maps that are not in the rotations.

Hmm. Went through setting up a custom package on the website and it said unlimited data. I suppose if I go with them I better check first.

Have to +1 that on income and bills. Which for me income isnt much. And now a couple monthly bills will be going up. We also do have to keep in mind that making DLC isnt free. Especially since things like maps are vastly more complicated than in the cod4/5 days. The developers have to pay many millions to create and distribute it all. The real question however is whether or not certain things, that in the past went into the base game (not updates), are already made and ready to go but held back to sell you later in DLC. There have been cases where the content is already there and, in players view, paid for but locked. I dont know if they do this practice anymore however. Too much backlash since players considered it double dipping.

Currently I just have internet and regular phone service. No TV. Not exactly fast either compared to what is available these days. Also the occasional old phone service long distance charges if my cellphone wont work (coverage not great). Will also now have to get basic family television for others, both adults and kids. Maybe a dvr again. Gotta keep some backlogs of kids shows. Anyways, the two options are xfinity and uverse. Canceling the ATT account might be problematic since its still in my fathers name, I think, and he passed away back in July. I hope not. I have just been paying the bills. One thing I dont like about xfinity is the 1TB data cap. Currently I dont get anywhere near 1TB because my connection is too slow to allow it. Right now I dont have a cap with my local DSL. Anyone have either? Had both? Curious about reliability, customer service, and all the rest. Also how close people get to the caps. I have read horror stories about comcast and when they make usage mistakes... which they wont admit... and charge huge bucks for overages. Things like MAC spoofing by hackers. I figure Uverse, with no datacap, doesnt worry about such things since its all DSL based for everything anyways. I assume customer service is about the same for both. Meaning poor. Thoughts?

Biased against? I suppose that is relative. IMO the standard HC game is the other way. Biased in favor of r&g. But you dont want to take away things in the name of 'balance'. That would be punitive. You want to give more options others can choose in place of some other pretty valuable specialties. Will they choose something that might protect them from a couple of rounds and then its gone? Or will they choose stealth that lasts until they die? Maybe they prefer some protection against explosives that also lasts. Especially in a tubegasm fest. edit: Forgot to add, in my view a punitive measure is a crouch server. It doesnt bother with options. It simply sets a rule that says you cant play the way you want to.

Armor piercing works against body armor. So I dont know what you saw unless health itself was very high for some reason. But I dont think there is anything that raises it here beyond the max of 30. Maybe a conflict. If you remember PM me with your loadout at the time for weapons and perks etc so we can work through it and see if anything is amis.

Irrelevant? On the contrary. It means you cant count on 1 shot 1 kill. Protect yourself. In any case as said before this is there to afford some level of protection for those that want to spend a perk on it instead of some other good options. But not to the unfairness of juggy.
