This is why I am very selective on where I shop and who has my credit card information. When shopping around saving 20 bucks isnt worth giving a new store my card number. -

Earlier snipers on the mw2 mod for a short time had no sway and were very accurate. As expected. However due to the damage a single round can do that is unfair. Funny enough all sniper rifles except those with the silencer attachment have a base damage of 70 before location modifiers are applied. Kinda strange when you think about it. The M14/21 are pretty much the same weapon except that one has a scope. Yet the damage is 40 vs 70. My recommendation was that if no-sway was put back then damage must be much more restricted. Since it would be that much easier to get a torso hit the damage should be 40 not 70. The old crossbow was a bit whacked out also. How exactly is a weighted arrow supposed to travel the same distance as a sniper round and at the same speed? The problem was that all the parameters matched the SP version without the explosive bolts. SP weapons are often so noobish as to be laughable. -
Lets be nice everyone. I rarely add things on a whim but to balance things out or offer additional options players can choose to use in place of others. Those options must also include counter measures. Body armor has the AP perk. Novagas has the tacmask. Betties/Sentries have stealth. The RC/emp/mininuke has Hardwired. I am also a big supporter of giving rewards for team play. Either in ftag or the various objective games. The balance for hardcore in the standard game was juggy. A stupid perk with its regen. So armor is a compromise. Limited protection and no regen. Anyone that wants ftag armor has to earn it. The feature is a good one to have. But as with all new things its always possible it needs to be handled differently. I am always open to suggestions. I have rarely been pissed off at anyone if they dont like what I do with the mod. However in the end I do what I think is best for the game with input from others to help me decide exactly what that is.

You are shooting good team players that defrost. Which is a good thing and is a reward. Defrosting is encouraged. Three shots from an RPD will at minimum do 120 points of damage before modifiers are applied such as for stopping power. As does the M4 and ACR. Players cannot get that much health+armor. Except maybe care packages. I dont know what the server has that set at. Maybe consider stopping power or armor piercing rounds. Standard hardcore is a pretty stupid mode if you ask me. What benefit is an AK over an mp5? In hc both kill in one shot. Even if you just hit a foot. Dont even have to worry about hitting the torso at all. The fact that there is now some defense, when before there was none, makes things more fair. At worst you lose 1 or 2 rounds. The other guy loses any armor he has and it doesnt come back.

Sniper rifles dont hit well unless you hold breath. Even if you are right on target. They always were a little buggy. That is why sniper servers for example go for the no-sway versions. They hit what you aim at. -
You 'had' to go to the mw2 server? That doesnt sound very encouraging. Sounds like server redirect mismatch problem.

The armor piercing perk penetrates body armor but it doesnt deplete it. So those without it must still destroy the armor first. Since the addition of unfreeze armor I wouldnt be surprised if a few more people are running around with it. Even then the max of 50 points (5 full defrosts) will only protect against one or two shots before its gone. But most players dont get there. Some math: The enemy has full health and 50 points of armor for a total of 80. Most AR's do 40 points, not accounting for distance modifiers. The AK does 45. Hit location modifiers on the head and upper torso (1.5 * base damage) can bump it up to 60 points. Stopping power adds %40 on top of that for 84. So if a player with an AR at medium distance hits the upper torso and has SP he will kill in one shot. SMG's do 30 points but follow the same rules. For lag spikes I compared the older one to the newer one and they seem to be the same. There have been end-of-round CI's. I know what the problem is. Its a matter of coding things differently to get rid of it. As for the older mod being better...well.. I hear that every time. In this particular one much of it is due to the ACR. edit: wow. That shot to the head is supposed to be eighty points.

If I understand correctly someone blew up your car by throwing a grenade at you. But the car explosion didnt get you any kills. That is how it is supposed to be. Whoever blew up your car gets the kills. Always been that way with claymores/c4 also. If an enemy plants a claymore and you shoot it you will get any kills not the original owner. For the attack package I assume you mean you didnt throw the marker before frozen. Correct?

Ok some techie info: For the Betty range is 256. Yes 256 is a standard range for many explosives. Max damage at center 210 points. Min damage at 256 units 70 points. So compared to an RC the max/min damage is spread out more. Like claymores it has less explosive punch than a C4 charge but has frag damage, so to speak. The initial radius damage checks performed by the engine are a sphere around the center. It sends player damage to everyone in range. The amount of damage will depend on how much the explosive 'sees' the player based on obstructions, keeping in mind that not everything is solid. Same checks used by grenades. After that the various exceptions and/or modifications can be done. If a friendly ignore the damage sent, unless ff is on. If the attacker has the sonic boom perk increase the damage. Stuff like that. When the Betty is tripped it pops up to a height of 64 units. When it explodes it goes through height checks relative to the center of the enemy based on his current stance. If standing the center is 32 units high. Crouched is 24. Prone is 10. In addition to the 256 range the stance center of the enemy must be within 46 units above or 46 units below. Assuming level terrain the stance center must be at least 24 units high to receive damage. Those standing receive damage. Those prone do not. Since crouched, at 24, is right in the middle it will depend on the terrain if its not flat or whether or not the enemy is standing on anything. Or if he is jumping.

God mode? Not at all. Yes a shot or two of protection and thats it. All this bruhaha about armor is overplayed considering its actually one of the weaker perks in that slot compared to others like stopping power and stealth. If armor regenerated... like health... I could see the problem. But it doesnt otherwise there would be no point for it to begin with. Defrost armor is a reward for team play. Defrost team mates and you get some. Run around or camp strictly to get kills and you get nothing. edit: The RC has the same explosive punch as a pack of C4. 256 unit radius from the center. 400 damage points at the center. 25 at 255 units. Final damage a linear amount between the two depending on distance. So at 128 its 200 damage. At 192 its 100 points.
