  1. Ambient weapons kill everybody. cuav should have jammed radar, including the grain, from the beginning but there were bugs with the always-on minimap in hardcore.
  2. Yes rc-xd is actually not all that powerful for what it is but its not a free kill. You are using 1 of your limited supply of streaks on a low value attack. I think I posted it already but emp nades will now disable them so they cant move and the player can no longer trigger it. Looking into adding a bonus score for those that shoot it. Maybe 100 points for this server. So if its close and you know the direction its coming from, toss the nade then shoot it from a distance to get the score.
  3. For map, do you know what happens before they go out? killstreak? ambient weapon? EMP nade? etc. Rugger can change a speed multipler for the car. Up to twice normal player speed I think.
  4. No random heli's since they require an owner to work. I could script the turret to fire manually but I figure the other airstrikes are enough. In general the ambient weapons are 1/2 as powerful as the player versions. The airstrikes do the normal threat assessment. The heavier classes have priority. On top of that the higher your score the higher priority.
  5. Ambient weapons. One is EMP and another is counteruav. Both afffect all players and last for 20 seconds. The overtime issue was a dumb mistake. Ugh. I will going through the errors today and fixing things. Thx.

  8. No there is nothing 'wrong', as said above. But servers are given the option to use standard or LR for any sniper rifle. An old topic somewhere discusses all of this and IW never considered that players would want bigger maps. Or they did but didnt want to allow us to make that choice. So sniper rifle range is literally no more than assault rifles but with higher accuracy at that distance. This was the only way around it. So it is an admin decision on what to do and up to Rugger.
  9. How would you describe gun kick? Too much? Too little? For balance the custom ones should still be the same as the stock ones they replaced. m200 for r700, l96 for m40, and wa2000 for m21.   10. We can ask Rugger if he wants to do it but one change that may improve things is make the Glock secondary a 3-round burst. If you are ads and at a reasonable range one burst is usually enough to kill. Unless the player has juggy. The mod was designed to make the classes more specific and allows for perks and streaks to be limited by class in any way the server desires. Anyways, for the next release added China lake as a replacement for the GL attachment, which has been removed to free up game assets. The launcher has been balanced to behave in all respects as the GL. Except that it can also be fired ads if desired and is pump-action. All classes can choose it. Also likely the Crossbow will be as it is in BO with 2 explosive bolts as projectiles. However dont know yet if they will stick to players with a fuse. Currently they act like sniper rounds (not LR). Not very realistic.

  13. Well reinstalled the game and patches this evening. Luckily it would accept a second drive. Then downloaded the vietnam and mw mods. But nobody there. Ah well. I only get to play when its late at night so I suspect my timing is bad.
  14. Was told about that problem a little while ago and I think it was a bug where the menu wasnt reading the attachment tables correctly for GL. So the attachment stat for that weapon gets incorrectly set as tho it hasnt been unlocked. IMHO they did things for attachments in a screwy way for some things but can only work around it. So far the problem hasnt happened in the next release. For now, delete the player profile for the mod. Ranks are reset of course but it wont hurt anything otherwise. In the far future, if time permits, we would like to reintroduce weapon and perk unlocks and maybe a slightly more elaborate ranking system. But I fear opening a proverbial can of worms.
  15. Broadcast and Backlot dont work on the OW2 mod, if that is the mod you mean. However there are custom versions of Backlot that are optimized for mods and are much better IMHO. Which is why we will never see mapping tools ever again in COD since they are now selling map packs.
  16. What kind of traffic do cod5 servers get in the evenings PST or PDT? I uninstalled the game awhile ago to make room for BO when I got it (which is also uninstalled now) but if I can get it to install on a second partition or drive I might put it back.
  17. You mean the bubble itself isnt actually removed and moves around with the player after he is defrosted? Or does it look like a red FX? I didnt think a bubble moving around with a player was even possible. The only actual command in the script that moves it is for up and down only when health changes due to the unfreezing process. Weird. I know about the no-bodies thing and hopefully that is fixed in the next release.
  18. Wow. I have to say I am a terrible player and I can get really frustrated now and then when I play. Even so, glitching is something that would never occur to me. Might as well play against bots and set their skill to turkeyshoot.

  20. Already doing the best we can with xmodels and it currently has less than the 1.3 mod did. As always its about choices and what is more important. Some maps wont even run on stock OW and it only has 6 custom models.
  21. Remagen wont work with ow2. Too many xmodel assets.
  22. If the goal is concealment then yes it probably wouldnt be the best choice. But if that is not a problem, say you are in a group of rushers, then the enemy knows you are there somewhere anyways pushing them. So Overwatch could be a good companion to have with you as you advance. The current version does follow the player too closely however. Changes make it so it patrols the area around the player instead and doesnt hover around too much. As for attacking, if an enemy fires on it then the heli considers him the biggest threat and will be the primary target. http://beta.xfire.com/videos/557325

  24. I will look into speeding the B2 up. I agree its kinda slow. The escort has been renamed Overwatch. That is basically what it does. Its targeting is better now and acts a little more autonomusly, relying less on what the player does. If the player dies it stays at that location until he respawns. The mininuke blast and radiation effects improved. Fly height of Pavelow should be the same as the stock airstrike but I will confirm this.
  25. Was it about a missing player tag? A known issue, hopefully fixed in the next release. Of the 3 11-kill streaks each has its strengths and weaknesses. The heli is less powerful than the ac130 but better in dense urban environments since it flies over the map not around it. Also the minigun doesnt suffer from the travel time the 25/40/105 projectiles do. The mininuke is a one use weapon on a fixed area but quite destructive and while a building will protect you from the blast the radiation will get you. So it all depends.
