    since 486 sound has come along way, also cpu extra's cores helped the sound quality today's onboard sound is same thing as a card just main lined to cpu without a slot some cards have better op amps then onboard for everyone has different taste like Bose to radio shack speakers to klipsch hershy's save your money and get 1/8 mini stereo to rca cord to hook up to receiver, amp and have pounding sound

    with car off ALT remove the battery feeder line (usally the 10 gauage wire at rear) place meter between connection and check draw volts setting for if use amperes most meters won't read that low millivolt is the way to go

    what year ? with car off remove neg cable place multi-meter between bat and cable with meter on low DC volt scale , max should 5 mV draw if more , start unplugging things off the harness till you get below 5mV then follow back to each device my hunch is the body module
