Is it cordless or USB? Try deleting one and make the other default. Try another USB slot. Does the mouse have a disc install ,or try to upgrade the driver? Some mice require installing the driver/program from the manufacture to work properly (make sure the set-up is for win8) Sounds like it might be a config issue. If that is a possibility, try system restore to a time before the trouble. I hope something helps Star. One other thing to try is to google the problem and see what comes up. Or try setting the game compatibility to Win 7 or XP/Vista.

Sometimes maps are too small such as Alley, where everybody spawns at each end of an alley and try to shoot people spawning. I haven't seen it for awhile, but it sucks. Or the maps where you spawn down in lower corridors and between spawn tripping and the wasted time to get into action, are boring. All other types of maps are OK. I think it is just a matter of map rotations being too far apart. Sorry I'm not a tech guy, but is there a way to put COD2 configs on to COD4 maps because it would certainly open up a whole new world of maps and would be a new twist for both COD2 and COD4 players. On a side note, I would like to thank everybody involved in map rotations/making. Your effort is greatly appreciated.

Good choice Dean. I also run a GeForce GTX 760 and have had no complaints, except the driver updates nvidia sends out.
