Dawgy I believe started a post the other day that seemed to vanish(possibly with the server work) unless I missed it. He basically stated the traffic has been pretty poor on the cod2 server. He also stated he wasn't a fan of some of the server changes. A reply I had written that I could not get to post. Some of the post is in direct reply to some of the comments. The dm server later followed by the CTF server is what originally drove me here and into this clan. The quality of people did as well. I remember on a nightly basis there would be great ctf games between the time I got home from work until around midnight usually. Usually after that the stragglers would go to the dm server until the wee hours. I am not a fan of all the gadget stuff junking up the server as well. If the server was set up a little more traditional it may draw some of the older crowd. If I wanted to have other things shoot for me or fly planes I would be playing a different game. Some more events/tourneys may help traffic some as well. I haven't ran one in some time and need to get busy in that department on a variety of games and cod flavors. Dawgy my favorite non XI server is the outlaw ctf server. It doesn't play with the speed of our ctf mod (which I miss) we used but it is setup really well though. If you want to get in some ctf be sure to xfire me. I go in from time to time and hand out some grief. There is usually good traffic there at most times of the day/night. 64.94.238.161

Rugger, A couple of things to look at. If you want a server that looks decent from an East or West coast perspective I would look at some of the hosting companies in Texas. Have some of the East and West coast players get some trace routes to their sample servers. Usually there are decent paths to most isps from that area. Cutting down on the amount of airstrikes also could improve your ci's as well. For people that don't know most of your virus scans that do real time scanning pick up on that and attempt to scan it. The numerous airstrikes also do no favors for the dedicated server to calculate as well. If the mod your using ran decent in the past its not your mod causing the issue. Unless the mod version changed and the netcode in the newer version has changed as well. As far as the current mod if I wanted something similar to the newer cod games I would play that. Not a cod2 version with 9 year old graphics. My personal favorite is the mod playing ctf. That server was fantastic and like crack back at its peak. Stoner when I was with Time Warner Cable Business class I had a 1 gig circuit at my desk I had to myself. I could bury the speed test sites most of them are usually around 100mb. I'm going to say I win here. :0 I also installed one of the sites you see on speedtest.net MDECA site Which was a also a 1gb circuit. That was a few years back it is probably a 10gb circuit now with the traffic that flows through there.

There were a few bad calls in this game. The 75-yard td run and the 43-yard td pass didn't help the Hawks much either. :0

We play full kits in server 2 as well. We won't kick you. We will just shoot you :0

i handle them and usually win them. They just put me to sleep. I would tell you about this in game but I usually mute you because you talk so much about nothing I can't hear useful intel. I know most of the regular crowd are more in your face runner types. Daytons Girl, Meek, T-rat, Ice, Iron J, Titan, Voss, Sally, Keres to name a few. All good players who's aggressive play make this server a blast.

To whomever made the map rotation. If you are a sniper and a fan of large maps great. Learn how to mix other maps in. The rotation from what I've seen so far blows unless your into long drawn out snipefests. In my opinion quite boring. You will see a drop from the regular traffic. There are more than enough of those maps on the beta server.

The shotties are 100% more fun than the pistols. I wouldn't drop them in any respect. I was +15 in our tourney match but it was difficult. What you need to try and do is look for the availability of a server in the Texas area. Most isps East or West coast (like yourself) with a decent path there are going to ping in the 60ms range. Which runs pretty smooth on the cod2 (quake3 engine) network code. People in that region will be better than that usually. 50 to 60ms range it really doesn't play much different than a lan usually. This comes from years of running a Quake3 server (same netcode) and playing way too much.

My hats off to you and others overseas playing with the high pings. For some reason with the higher ping I had on this server the shotgun was much more difficult to play with than any gun. I couldn't play nearly as aggressive as I normally would.

Server 1 is usually where I see Ice. Come to server 2 if your up late for entertainment. There are nights there were we do quite a few rounds of knife only.

My last 2 sets of G330 logitechs have had extended life with duct tape.

I don't know much about that area. I am about 1.5 hrs from there. I can definitely show you around the cinci area.I do have an old co-worker who lives close to there I can probably hit up for more insight.
