You don't. You are still installing the game normally. However Like cod4 and cod5, which you had to install Punkbuster, you have to install steam, to LINK your DVD key to your steam account. It has two effects. 1. The DVD has the VAC installed as part of it (Value Anti Cheat). 2. If you cheat, it writes it back to your steam account, and bans you from playing multiple player. However if steam itself crashed. You wouldn't have to reinstall the game, but ONLY steam, which will remember that your DVD is registered to your account.

Exactly why I never buy games from steam, and always get the DVD. Go to the steam forums and see if you can find that error message. This isn't the answer to fixing it, but the possible cause: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2108663 Though I would first try a Windows System Restore first.

I've had plenty of feedback, stating that the stats don't always update. Well I've had a good look into this and (hopefully) have fixed it. In the past all the Ultrastats servers updated on the hour every hour at the same time. Now because some are larger than others, I believe they were timing out, as others hadn't finished updating. As a result I have edited the cronjobs (Unix scheduled tasks), so that they run at 5 minute intervals apart every hour. Example: COD4 ACE - on the hour every hour COD4 FTAG1 - 5 mintues past the hour every hour COD5 DM - 10 mintues past the hour every hour ...and so on. I have watched them all through, and so far so good. Thx, Cavey

Hi Buddy, I'm still working on the new XI Ladders and Tournaments website. I still have a great deal of coding to do, and require some admin descisions on how it is going to run. We are having an admin meeting on 18th. After that I will be working my butt off to get it up and running. In the meantime I've renamed the registration page so no one can register. Yes I have the iPhone 4. By far the best mobile out there. I am planning on doing an iPhone forum app for XI, just after finishing the additions to Ultrastats and XI Tournaments website. I've finished getting my virtual mac OSX working and downloaded the development SDK, such as Xcode. I plan on using a simple SQL snapin connector to our database, ultilising login credentials to ensure people only see the forums they are entitled to. Again I will need a little assistance from Phantom to make the connection. As well as Rockape for testing with his iPhone (old generation).

Dear All, I will be resetting all Ultrastats a little late this month (normally on the 1st of every month). The reason being, is that I'm away until Sunday morning (UK time). I will reset them on Sunday morning (04/09/11, or for you Americans, 09/04/11). The other reason for this is I'm introducing some additional medals (See below), and I will need time to implement the code. I can only do this at the same times as resetting the stats. I have been informed about the COD4 MW2FT stats not updating since the 26th. It turns out that the log file on the Ultrastats server has disappeared!!! I have pulled down the game log from the game server again, and reparsed it, however it looks as though it has become corrupt. Unfortunately I have no more time to deal with it as I have to leave. I will ensure it's all working again on Sunday. Regards, Cavey

nosjp Ruggerxi The only way to turn this off to to turn off the console on the server, I now many people use the console to activate there auto defrost and shit like that. I think if this becomes more of a problem then we will remove it, but lets leave it for now and ban or kick people who abuse it. Wrong. To disable /callvote commands (map_Rotate,kick..etc) you must put in server.cfg: set g_allowvote "0" google likes his role as tester (cobai). just kidding I proposed a vote of kick just to see if it works. I told google. Mea culpa. Just don't do it again!

Rambos, can you try this please: Go to options => multiplayer options. There you need to go enter key. Don't change the code. But click on verify. Ture, it still could be loaded in memory or in taskmanager, however that has nothing to do with your router's firewall. Firewall's either allow or bloke, simple as that. Unless he logged into his router firewall and bloked the cod tcp or udp gaming protocols, this cannot cause the problem. If the router is 100% working properly, you are right. I don't know why we have this discussion as this is now sorted and was just suggesting him to start with the basics to have those issues nailed down. Firewalls aren't flawless as other electronic devices. I missed his post, I didn't refresh my browser. Glad it's working now. My firewall is epic. It even has a "I will spank you Ray if you are naughty" module. How cool is that

X-RayXI Did you try to connect again after 30minutes or a hour? Maybe you have to disable the firewall in the router to test and try again. Urrrh, that's a negative Ghostrider, that will make no difference!

GixXxer robdevil Gixx try to update all chipset, sound and video drivers, reinstall punk buster, reinstall game, try to direct connect by xfire, reinstall windows. buy new PC LOL, i've done all that except buy new PC.... Gix have you reformatted your hhard drive, and built from scratch? If not I would recommend you do. As SOB said it is always a sound card driver issue. I would recommend installing all hardware drivers first, and COD 4 last.
