Early this afternoon, I launched the game, again no problems. Before I began to play, I recalled an earlier email from one of the gang that let me know that there were new maps in the rotation. I exited the game and ran the >XI< downloader. Since then, most of the time the game hangs on a black screen. The arrow cursor is there and I can move it, but that's it. The two times that I made it past it, I couldn't access the online services to get my account info (name, rank etc). The last time it eventually let me in, but PunkBuster kicked me out twice because it could not communicate with the PB server. I just did a fresh install of the OS and the game on Friday night when I installed a new SSD boot drive, so the OS, game, and Punkbuster installs are fresh. I'm bad for this what server is this happing on delete that mod here are the 4 mod names mp_xidmace- ace mod xifreeze-stock freeze tag mod wawmw-modern weapons mod xinam- nam freeze tag mod I would think you have all the maps all ready so there's no reason to use the downloader. If it hangs on a map over and over again its going to be that map delete it and let the redirect give you a fresh copy. If the game hangs for all sorts of reasons its more them likely your mod files got all frigged and buggered up. Crap happens then delete the mod. I already ran Punkbuster. CODWAW hangs when I start it, before I go online. Good call on the ports Deerhunter. I may try that as a moment ago, after finally getting it to run, it couldn't connect again to the online services. Now I can't get in to the program at all. Fuck. However, after a couple of minutes, I got a PunkbusterB communication error. I looked at my services, and only PunkBusterA is running. I need to figure how to get Punkbuster B happening. PunkbusterA was set up with a firewall rule (AVG Firewall on my PC); PunkBusterB was not. i added a rule and I just played for a few minutes with no issues. I hope this solved it. Ive said this way to many times. Get rid of programs that give you free to try software like AVG, AVAST and there 's a whole lot more like them. Delete the crap there so 2008 folks. If you want to pay ok get node 32 thats the best. After that I'd have to say for money go macafee spelling is close then Sorton there's a reason for the spelilng. The more you spend the closer you might get to protection . Or if you get tiered of the crap viruses and adwre and jezz I don't know there's so many terms . Go here never heard anyone say it does not work. people like to complaine they do not like to say wow it works. Time and time again never fails toss the crap people really. Once I set the rule for PunkBuster, it worked just fine. I just spent 3 or so hours on the WAW Vietnam FT server and no issues. Now that I have a fresh install and everything works smoothly, I'll use Acronis and make a clean image that I'll archive in case I have to recover my system to a new drive.
