I have a DQ45CB Mother board:

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/motherboards/desktop-motherboards/desktop-board-dq45cb.html

With an INTEL Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @2.40 Ghz 2.39 Ghz

Video Card Geforce GTX 560

I have 4 gig DDR2 ram.

Now I am pretty sure that the CPU is flaky. Keep having the same problem intermently first was the SLI bridge on video cards. then bad hard drive then mother board had to be sent back 3 times was never bad. different mother board the one in it now (listed above) then said ram and replaced also at one point in time said power supply was bad since retested it and it is good.

I want to fix this flaky comp. I am thinking that the best route would be neew motherboard and cpu also should get new ram since i am ddr2.

My question is. What motherboard /CPU to get. Not wanting to spend a fortune. Or another fix for a flaky CPU.

Thanks

Fellow Idiot./Goat

You might think about a new case too. with all those troubles it may be possible to have a short in your case wiring as well. If you're gonna do it, just go all out and start from scratch, except on the graphics cards, thats still a nice card.

I just got an Asus P8Z68 series mobo, and an i7 2600k, I am well pleased with it myself.

I might just do that. I can go without a game for a couple weeks right?

LOL

Maybe something better for the same cost. I liked the board being able to take an i7 chip too. later upgrade?

i clicked on the link and that board is an amd board. maybe somethin wrong with the link but i dont know. either way the board it showed me wont take an i7 chip. so look into it. from my experience a high end motherboard goes a long way. its the backbone of your system and it needs to be good.

i have the same cpu and i wanted to buy a new one too because the it feeld really slow but before i dit that i tryed to overclock the cpu. thats what i dit, it running on 3005mhz since over a year now and the good sideeffect is when u overclock the cpu u overclock ur ram too because of the northbridge overclocking.

windowstest said that my cpu was on 5.9 before and now is on 7.2. ram was on 6.3 and is now on 7.2 too.

overclocking rucks. and if it fails it is not so bad because u where thinking on buying a new one. :D

I could over clock it but if I am getting blue screens and it just rebooting or crashing expecially when it is worked make that worse?

that q6600 is the first intel quad and its bulletproof just like the first intel duo core e6300.You can overclock the shit out of it if ya like.I would doubt its a cpu problem but who knows better then you after all those problems. Its still kind of a shot in the dark.If ya go5t the money to blow ..have fun

if possible a gigabyte board and intel cpu would be my choice.gl

..Hey since you condemned your setup you might as well overclock it .Doing this you could match most any i7 out there...have fun ...try that first perhapshttp://www.tomshardware.com/forum/275040-29-q6600-upgrade

Ill give overclocking a try. but I still dont know how that would help. wouldnt overclocking make the cpu work harder? I wouldnt mind a faster computer but I would rather have one that worked. Am i totally misunderstanding what overclocking does?

And if it isnt a CPU problem that would leave the case. Another reason to think it is the CPU. I worked with Ruthless and Beer clown. Beer clown and I built comps at almost the same time. Same chip and case and ram video cards. The only difference was Motherboard. I returned my motherboard 3 times und3er warranty cause it was showing bad. then got the intel one. Beer clown was having problems like I had as wel;l and returned his motherboard at least once before the warranty wore out Now lots have said that it is the case. where should I check the case?

Also I have noticed that I keep installing the same 4 win updates I look at back installs and the same ones have been installed like 5 times. Could that be my problem? and if so any ideas on how to fix? I looked online and not much information and when they say download this and run even on microsoft forums makes me nervous.

thanks

I know i can ramble and my spelling is horrible.

Thanks Goat
