I got a new headset(razer Blackshark) about 2 weeks ago and while in game when I use mic I get a delayed echo of myself talking. It makes trying to talk in game unbearable. It doesn't happen in any other program.  Has anyone had this happen before or any ideas on how to fix.

If no one steps up to help I can attempt to by going over sound settings and what not....

We can do it through teamspeak Xfire or Cell what ever works for you

With that being said how about some more info

like what game

what os you run

what plug in for sound

what sound card

drivers upto date

etc

let me know

Try this: Open Sound by clicking the Start button and then Control Panel. Click the Recording tab, then right click Microphone and select Properties. Now, click the Listen tab. If there is a check beside "Listen to this device," remove it, then click OK, and OK again.

game:cod4
os: windows 7 64bit
plug for sound: just regular headset jack. green plug not usb
sound card: onboard realtek 7.1 with update drivers

I went into the sound settings and the "Listen to this device" was unchecked. It started the same day I bought the headset. I also updated windows and graphics drivers that same day. I might just need to do a reformat.

@@Angel Yea I wasn't ignoring you. Its just hard to talk when you hear your self with a delay.

I had a similar thing happen and  as Cobra says, it was a sound setting. It sounded like two sound cards working out of sync. Play with the settings.

Also try checking your default settings.

sounds like your mobo audio controller and gpu audio controller has a conflict. you might want to disable either one of them and check the sound settings.

yea I put in a new sound card today and the problem is gone.  So I'm guessing it was the onboard sound drivers. Might try to reinstall those or change them to a more stable version later. Its just nice to be able to talk in-game again without the echo. Thanks for all the help guys.

I tried USB headsets, but what really has worked for me is a good pair of Sony wireless headphones and a 2 dollar mike from the dollar store
