I know that some with this card have had to set up bf4 a certain way or made changes. Anything I should know before installing and setting mine up? From what I understand, I should completely uninstall all drivers and software and then do a full clean install and driver download once new gpu is in. Anything else you'd recommend for bF4? Thanks for the help! Flushy DorkNRok 1

These are my settings. This runs at around 100 fps most of the time on big open maps, taking dips in Siege and Zavod to the 70-ish mark. At very intense points and/or when I topple Siege's building it may drop below 60 for a little bit in the dense dust clouds. If you have a smaller screen this will easily let you play painlessly and smooth at all times. To add eye candy, consider upping the Lighting Effects to high. Terrain deco, AA and AO are off not just because they lower the frame rate, but also because I can't see well with them on since everything gets blurry. Pretty, but blurred. I didn't necessarily want to max at ultra right away as i've heard that sometimes that affects gameplay quite a bit. Appreciate the help! Flushy

I just picked up my EVGA 770 4GB last weekend. Had MAJOR issues with it, so let me help you save some time. 1. When installing, DO NOT USE THE DVI CABLE. Only use the HDMI. This sounds crazy, but after 20+ hours of trying to get my computer to work. This was the issue. I found some guy on a forum, about 3 hours after looking everywhere, that said both he and his friend had the same issue. Nothing would work while using the DVI cable, until AFTER all is installed and recent drivers updated. I didn't believe this, but as soon as I disconnected the DVI cable, everything worked. Apparently, DVI initiates a different driver, and that driver is not happy with Windows, until you get the latest drivers from Nvidia. (installing the drivers first, and then trying, didnt work either.) This was after 8-12 OS format and reinstalls. Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 - USB, CD, DVD, Local ISO, none of it worked. 2. Do not attempt to use any other slot than PCI1. I wanted to use PCI2, because it is further from my processor, but it never worked. I beleive they are different speeds. 3. The thing is a monster. You think your current video card is big? This thing is a foot in length. If you dont have a full tower, expect to have to move some drive bays out of the way. Realisticall, if I were you, this is what I would do. When you get the card, take out the old one, plug in the new one, and use HDMI. Try to boot. You might get lucky and everything will work fine. Once you do that, run the newest nvidia driver install. Do not worry about first removing all the drivers, and dont try to remove them with cccleaner of the likes. Use the nvidia option to do a fresh install. 3-4 years ago nvidia got rid of having to do safemode uninstalls and driver wipes. If it doesnt work for you right away, consider trying to boot into safe mode (have fun with that if you are on windows 8...). Then attempt to reinstall drivers there. If that fails, Im going to just say right away, do a full reinstall of the OS. Wipe that sucker clean and start over. Hopefully you have better luck than I did, as it took 5 days, over 20 hours, to get the thing working. To find out it was all broke because of a damn DVI driver. good luck, and enjoy, its a world of difference. There are graphic effects I didnt even know existed in the game. Last night I started downloading all my mods for Skyrim again. Cant wait to see how it looks with that massive 4GB memory for HUGE uncompressed textures.

Sorry you had to deal with all of that, kind of takes away from the new hardware having to troubleshoot for two days before playing! I'll definitely take that into account. I've read some more after posting this and have seen a lot of the same types of comments. I've favorited them as well as your post and will be referencing them while I work on the install. Hopefully, if all goes well, I'll be up and running by tomorrow evening! Thanks again! Flushy
