Is this from the same lake you caught that 5.5lb bass? Here is a pike I caught the other day . . . . . notice how different the color is? The color of the fish is probably the result of what they been eating lately. This one has been eating my shad rap. . . . you can see it in his mouth. Loads of them here but I always found them a boring fish to catch. Once on the hook they typically roll on there back and let you drag them to shore lol. Use a minnow lure and they are easy to catch. You must not be familiar with BIG pike. Hook a northern in the 36"-42" range and you will do battle . . .at least the ones I have caught here in Montana. and then there is the adventure of retrieving your lure from these toothy critters.
