Right, so that's Steam (SHITE!) uninstalled, never be bothered by it again, and if any Activision products have to be installed using it, will NOT be buying them either!

You can order the hard copy online.  I got mine on Amazon, then you don't have to bother with steam.

You won't be able to buy/use any new games soon unless they are controlled by either Steam/Origin/Uplay or whatever else there is out there, all game companies are using an enabler like this now, just buying a Hard copy don't mean that Steam or whoever else will not control it, i buy hard copies of say games like the Total War series and Steam takes over all of them as soon as you install them.

That's if you can download it! As I siad in an earlier post, after eventually managing to get my account sorted, was unable to connect to their servers so still could not install MW2, also could not access Alien V Predator or Black Ops, another 2 games I own and cannot bloody play, thanks to steam (refuse to capitalize their name any more!) So now i have 3 games I purchased that I cannot play, fucking rediculous!

I have had few problems with steam, other than constant updates, but the one thing I do dislike is the fact that you cannot transfer a game to someone else. If you buy a game that is outside your comfort zone (The Elder Scrolls) and you think it is shit, you can't pass it on to a friend so they can play it. This is a massive hole in their format. It shouldn't be difficult to transfer ownership to another steam user, they just want everyone to have to pay for it.

Pretty sure you should be able to get the license key for the game you purchased from steam, if you make a written request for it.... then you should be able to borrow a hard copy, install using the key from steam?!? Is this not an option?

If you bought a hard copy of a game even without Steam you cannot pass it on to anyone else, that's why games have keycodes  to stop this, the days of selling or passing on your second hand games went years ago, of course they want everyone to pay for it, they are running a business.

I think I didn't make myself clear...

I was meaning, there should be no problem passing on an unwanted game to another person. So not two people sharing a game.... one person uninstall in and passing it on to someone else so it is still only one person that has it installed. This is possible with a hard copy, it should be possible with a steam copy. If you don't want a game any more, you should be able to deactivate it at your end so someone else can use it.

What are you seeing when you go to your games directory in steam?

I can see all my games in the direcftory/library, problem is for some unknown reason when i go to down load, or install a game I have on disc, the error massage stating no coonection available to their servers comes up. Their 'help' was to check my router was connected to the internet,WTF? ofm course it is that is why i am on line conversing with you, another was a really complex change to the exe target, which after following the crap instructions, also did nothing, so like I said, have uninstalled steam and closed the account, guess that shortly I will be unable to play any games due to this fucked up crap installation system now. Why the hell should this be, you pay over the top prices for a game, then still cannot install without steam, utterly rediculous!
