SC2 strategies ?

guyz,

i seriously need help with this game

i suck so bad im really ashamed

 

i play some custom matches, 3 vs 3 always playing with terrans as i do not know anything about other races yet.

 

so what i do after getting owned after 5min is this:

i replay the match and try to watch carefully how the best player of the match is playing.

i study the strategy and redo the exact same in next match.

 

i was thinking it was a good way to get some positive results, but guess what

lol

 

i still get owned after 3 or 5 min, no matter what strategy i use.

 

so i go watch some strategy videos on youtube, some are really well explained.

but still same thing

 

so i need to read some sun tzu book to be able to play decently or there is a lot of luck in all this game and my bad luck is playing against me?

 

man i need some help because even if i lose a lot, and i really mean a lot, i do love this game

You can't copy people's strats, not because its their intellectual property, but because it just doesn't work and slows you down.

 

Best thing to do is be fast! If you are terran, make a wall on your cliff ramp out of a supply depot, your first bunker, and first barracks. Always build a bunker with a barracks to fend off a rush. Also, when you build an expansion, build it in your first base and then fly the new Command Center into the place you want to expand.

 

Keep your distance from Zealots (protoss melee guys). Zerglings get destroyed by Terran Hellions. Marauders aren't very good against Zerg. Constantly build workers and expand (if its financially viable). Only 3 workers should go on each Vespene thing.

 

Don't turtle -- don't just sit in your base and build, waiting for the fight to come to you, because if you do, the other team will destroy your workers and you won't be generating an income to rebuild your army and fight back.

 

Don't use battle cruisers if you are going to fight Protoss. Destroy Protoss prisms that are around their war buildings, that will cripple their army creation. For fighting zerg, destroy the queen first, then the lair.. or if you don't have enough power, go for the hydralisk den or the Greater spire. Terran has strong air units.

Yeah, but if he's not getting over 10 actions per minute and losing a game in 5 min, then he won't be using hotkeys.. just yet

lol yea i just started using hotkeys, and im getting better.

the problem i have is for counter early rush.

zergs are fast at early rush, and they very often come in  my base destroying my workers, and so are reapers.

today i play 3 matches 3vs3, and all 3 matches were like 2 or 3 min long, people rushing detroying all workers, base, game.

so i was a bit pissed,

decided to do the same, so next match was me vs 2 other guyz.

i was preparing a reaper rush, and destroyed both enemy base and workers.

 

it can be so easy, but i guess the next step is properly counter those early rushes.

i still a bit confused

make sure you're blocking off the entrance to your base with your barracks and supply depots. as for the reapers, im not sure which terran unit is strongest against it,but just stack up on a crapload of marines and you should be ok
