I do enjoy Tarantino technical discussions on film.  Likely a combination of components factoring in for me and enjoyment of his films, but his writing, the use of 35mm vs digital, the extreme closeups and various camera techniques most directors attempt but don't always pull off as clean make his films top-notch imho...

It's his total immersion in his chosen pursuit.  Mastery of it's fundamental components.  Imagination & Creativity.  Confidence to execute.  LIke a Larry Bird or a Stevie Ray Vaughan.  Don't know if he dedicated most every waking moment like the other two, but he can't be far off.  And passion, firstly.  All three.  Anybody passionate about a subject is interesting.  To me, anyway.
