  1. Yeah and whilst you're about it sort out these people WHO HAVE TO POST IN CAPITAL LETTERS! Er...oh!
  2. UnChileno GOOD OLD CANADIAN TALENT... Steak put this up yesterday but, in discovering this, I see I duplicated one of Chavez's choices too (California Dreaming) so that makes both of us Idiots. The selections so far are interesting because there are a few North American choices that were completely unknown to me. In the 1960s, a performer had to be huge to make the leap across the Atlantic in either direction, so I wonder whether "Telstar" was a hit in the USA and Canada, for example?? Reggae and ska styles were enormously popular in the UK in the late 1960s and early 1970s but have they been popular away from places with a large West Indian ethnic population? Everyone knows the late Bob Marley, I'm sure, but I wonder if the lesser known but important artists have a wider interest??
  3. 2_MANY_BEERS Well I finally got COD2. Had to wipe dust off of the case though. Loaded it in. Did the 1.3 update and tried to get on area 51 server and it came up with an error Hunk_Allocate Temp Memory: failed on 1398173 bytes (total 160MB,low1MB,High158MB)need 316893more hunk bytes. WTF does that mean. LOL Fix his shit first, it was his post. Beers If the above suggested fix doesn't work, I see this is a common problem for CoD and CoD: UO. Having Googled the problem, I found the following in another forum suggesting a fix for the earlier game: "Go into your Call of Duty\Main folder, and look for a file called config.cfg Open that in Wordpad or Notepad and search for a line that says seta com_hunkMegs. It should say seta com_hunkMegs "128" so try increasing that value and allocating more RAM to the game." If CoD2 is similarly set up, it could work for you too perhaps?
  4. WHITEBOY - Advice needed... I un-installed my COD2 and also deleted ALL folders related to it. I've done this several times before, with no problems....well I go to re-install and the install page comes up, and when I hit install....I got a error saying "unable to perform command...can not find library: MSVCP80.dll" it ask to ensure it is installed Does anybody have suggestions or any advice...? It would be grateful! See http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/msvcp80-dll-not-found-missing-error.htm Hope it helps.
  5. This explains why men and women think differently...
  6. Blame Chavez - he started this! Want some Satisfaction? It's the Rolling Stones!
  7. The Sixties wouldn't be complete without The Beatles! Here's "Penny Lane":
  8. Another one for you... (Well, you did ask a DeeJay!) This one has a special place in my affections for several reasons. My brother went to school with The Kinks and they lived in the same part of London as I did when I was young. I did a university course in Humanities and guess what one of the songs we studied in the Music segment was! Ray Davies recently performed down here and is still touring. Enjoy "Waterloo Sunset"...
  9. RIP Jimi - we still love you!
  10. baldiemeat - Man's best friend Just thought I would start a post For the XI pets ... Here is my Dog Samson he is only 5 months old and growing fast lol He's a real beauty, mate! I'd love a dog but one of life's cruel tricks is that I am allergic to them (they cause me bad asthma attacks).
  11. Pleased to read such positive action has been taken. Yes, the servers are "adult" but they should also be safe for the younger guests and members to frequent, free from any sort of abuse or bullying. Very well done!
  12. Bought it, played it, not highly impressed...

    hello

Hello Guppy! What's that you're holding in the picture? I think I'll keep my distance! Hope you enjoy your visits to the Idiots! Stay safe on duty. Best wishes from across the English Channel.
  14. Observations on Growing Older ~Your kids are becoming you...and you don't like them ....but your grandchildren are perfect! ~Going out is good. Coming home is better! ~When people say you look "Great"... they add "for your age!" ~When you needed the discount, you paid full price. Now you get discounts on everything... movies, hotels, flights, but you're too tired to use them. ~You forget names ... but it's OK because other people forgot they even knew you!!! ~The 5 pounds you wanted to lose is now 15 and you have a better chance of losing your keys than the 15 pounds. ~You realize you're never going to be really good at anything .... especially golf. ~Your spouse is counting on you to remember things you don't remember. ~The things you used to care to do, you no longer care to do, but you really do care that you don't care to do them anymore. ~Your husband sleeps better on a lounge chair with the TV blaring than he does in bed. It's called his "pre-sleep". ~Remember when your mother said, "Wear clean underwear in case you GET in an accident"? Now you bring clean underwear in case you HAVE an accident! ~You used to say, "I hope my kids GET married... Now, "I hope they STAY married!" ~You miss the days when everything worked with just an "ON" and "OFF" switch.. ~When GOOGLE, ipod, email, modem ... were unheard of, and a mouse was something that made you climb on a table. ~Now that you can afford expensive jewelry, it's not safe to wear it anywhere. ~Your husband has a night out with the guys, but he's home by 9:00 P.M. Next week it will be 8:30 P.M. ~You read 100 pages into a book before you realize you've read it. ~Notice everything they sell in stores is "sleeveless"?!!! ~What used to be freckles are now liver spots. ~Everybody whispers. ~Now that your husband has retired ... you'd give anything if he'd find a job! ~You have 3 sizes of clothes in your closet ... 2 of which you will never wear. ~~~~But old is good in some things: old songs, old movies, And best of all, OLD FRIENDS!!
  15. Rick, having had to abandon the ftag game to which MrTwister refers, I joined one on CoD5 Custom Maps where, after only a few minutes exploring the Titanic (impressive!), with merely a handful of others also connected, I again got "Connection Interrupted" and the connection to the server timed out. Modern Weapons (the next port of call) was, however, OK. If these servers are hosted at the same site, maybe it's a connection issue rather than a capacity one??
  16. Happy Birthday All! Have a wild time and enjoy your special day!
  17. If one "loses" a thread in which one has a particular interest, the search function works well too...
