  1. Welcome to Iron Belly! Keep playing so you don't get rusty! Hope to see you on the battlefield on the CoD5 servers.

THXS TO ALL FOR YOUR HELP IN ADVANCE.. YOURS...UNCHILENO Wot no burning map-makers??!
  3. Sayonara, Hauptman. Stay happy, well and safe! Be careful of the rice wine!
  4. Excellent! My son's just turned eighteen but wanted me to renew his fishing licence so we can continue to go fishing together. It's an ideal way for a father and son to spend a day and we get to talk for longer than we do at home. Here he is fighting a common carp (the fish won eventually).
  5. Sorry to read about your Dad's illness, Baldiemeat, and wish him a full and speedy recovery. Hope all fellow fathers have had/ are having a good day.
  6. Here's the scenario... Plattsburg (MO) PD Officer Nick Sheppard responds to a dog caught in a fence. The dog has a surprise in store for him... One for dog-lovers! (The doggy was later claimed by his owners.)
  7. The latest report from the Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/world-cup-2010/teams/england/7841279/World-Cup-2010-morale-at-an-all-time-low-as-England-faces-early-exit.html
  8. Congratulations and remember what they about marriage: "Marriage isn't just a word, it's a sentence"!
  9. Ah, what's the fuss? They're just getting warmed up...
  10. Check this one out... I didn't realise how many videos of massive burgers were on YouTube!
  11. Excellent news!
  12. Mexico played well against us (playing less than well) at Wembley yet still lost 3-1. They then went on to beat Italy! I really can't call this match. Sentiment will have me cheering on the hosts. Tomorrow's going to be a real test for England - so many of the American players are familiar faces in the Premier League here every Saturday and Donovan is a real class player. But I think we'll win...just!
  13. I played the MP_BURMA map for the first time, yesterday, and CoD5 crashed immediately afterwards with an error message I hadn't seen before: "ERROR: More than 2048 material assets". Has anyone else experienced this? If so, does it happen regularly and is there a fix one can apply? I've also noticed a great many more "Connection Interrupted" episodes of late and, from what I hear in-game, others in other parts of the world experience them concurrently with varying degrees of seriousness from a temporary period of lag to disconnection from the server.
  14. Get a free MP3 track - "El Dorado" - from their site here: http://www.ironmaiden.com/download They've just begun their US tour. See http://www.planetrock.co.uk/Article.asp?id=1835584&spid=35830 The report includes video footage of their opening night in Dallas, Texas yesterday. Edited to add: FREE DOWNLOAD OFFER EXPIRES 21 JUNE
  15. Welcome to the clan, Credit! I trust your interest rate is not low and you'll show a good account of yourself on the battlefield. You can keep a watch on how well you're doing via the Ultrastats link from the home page here - kind of like a Credit History? See you on the battlefield (where a deposit could be made - usually lead or cold steel). OK, I'll quit the puns now...
  16. I invite you all to read: http://www.hoax-slayer.com/postcard-virus-hoax.shtml If one keeps ones AV up-to-date, there's little reason for any elevated anxiety about a virus threat, real or otherwise. If you see a message, be it on a forum or in your email, mentioning the likes of CNN, employing CAPITAL LETTERS A GREAT DEAL FOR EFFECT and urging you to pass it on to all contacts/ friends/ family, there is a high probability it is just another hoax.
  17. fruittropics Hey guys I'm not sure how true this is. But I recall when I was in college my Econs teacher told us that there is a formula that calculates and determines who wins the world cup. Not sure if that just fuels speculation to get people to gamble or if it's true but so far based on the calculation, it's been right for quite a few years in a row. Does anyone know about this? See http://www.dnaindia.com/sport/report_brazil-will-beat-serbia-to-win-fifa-world-cup-says-new-formula_1390619 If he's right, the USA will be in for a shock exit. Forgive my scepticism - I really do believe that there are "lies, damned lies and statistics"!
  18. This should get you in the mood...
  19. Seems we may have highly tuned reaction times like pilots but (and I know there are exceptions in our clan) aerobic fitness isn't that good... http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/358525/what-gamers-have-in-common-with-top-athletes
  20. If you're hooked on Call of Duty, better stay away from China... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/china/7810810/Internet-addicts-stage-jail-break-from-rehab-centre.html
  21. As with all such claims, it is wise to check them out thoroughly. Snopes is a recognised and respected website that helps distinguish fact from urban myth and I found some interesting (and, dare I say, important!) corrections to what has been posted above. I invite you to read the Snopes page before using this product for unintended purposes. You may wish to note that the main ingredient of WD40 is not fish oil but "solvent naphtha petroleum, medium aliphatic >60%"! I shall not be putting this chemical anywhere near my fishing baits or anything else organic. The can I have here warns that the product contains petroleum distillates and should be kept away from ones skin... See: http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/household/wd-40.asp
  22. Nice post, Sam, and well done, Mikey - what a star! It'd be great if Mikey and others who make such an effort to help out their fellow Idiots were recognised by the clan.
  23. Wishing you a spicy day, peppered with nice things!
  24. Hythe, Kent, England, UK. Medieval Cinque Port. The word "hythe" means "harbour" in Old English (Anglo-Saxon). More information at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hythe,_Kent I snapped this view of the Royal Military Canal on 23 May 2010. Built as a defence during the Napoleonic War, the waterway runs through the town from Seabrook and continues into Sussex.
  25. Retired. Hoping to get a part-time job in a new supermarket in 2011.
