LOL! Is that called "dumping a load-er"?!

This reminds me of a Christmas story my brother-in-law wrote following getting food poisoning on Christmas Eve a few years ago. It goes like this: Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, food poisoned me and my spouse. The stocking were all hung by the chimney with care, I just had an accident on my Lazy-Boy chair. On my way to the restroom with "ralf" on my lap, my wife settled down for a long winters crap. Then all of a sudden I heard such a clatter, poor Kathleen missed her potty. Oh my what a splatter! We dashed to the hospital, something smelled in the air. We wished to arrive there with clean underwear! The good doctor gave us a wink and said we'll be alright. Our nightmare before Christmas was not a Tidy-bowl night!!

Now I've made it worse. I removed McCafe, since I've always hated it and now I can't get in through Xfire and COD2 still will not find servers. From Xfire, i get an "Xfire requires UAC elevation to run the game". ?? Anyone seen this?

Okay, been playing this game and setting up for years, but haven't seen this one. When I go into game from COD2 multiplayer icon on desktop, I have a profile set up but can't find servers - I get "waiting for response frm master" message but never goes. If I go in through Xfire, in TDM all works well and I get in. If I go into DM from Xfire, I lose my settings and must re-setup every time. Since I can't seem to find Killa from game, I can't get in since I can't add to favorites. I can get in the ones already in favorites and the profile is fine. Just got Windows 7, so something not right. Noticed I have a PLAYERS folder in Call of Duty in Programs, but no folder for DM?? Is it somewhere else? Also, what is command in game to connect from inside COD2? I tried that but think I have incorrect command. Rugger gave the IP address.

That's what I did (even before seeing your post!) and that worked. The restore took care of clearing out the registry, which is where I knew the problem lied! For all you that may convert to Windows 7.......INSTALL USING XP mode and have a Flash player installed first!! Thanks for the input gang!! I am back with upgrades!!

NOPE. i TRIED THAT TOO, BUD. BUT GET THE SAME MESSAGE. THINKS THE GAME IS INSTALLED, BUT DOESN'T SHOW UP ANYWHERE EXCEPT IN ACTIVISION FOLDER. LOOKS LIKE IT'S THERE, BUT NOT!! CAN'T UNINSTALL EITHER, SINCE IT'S NOT THERE!

Got a new system with Window 7 and install of game failed after 20 minutes of loading (when you put Disk 1 back in to finalize it). I think a scratched disk 1 may be the culprit. So, I tried again using my sons disks, but now I'm getting a "can't install because there is a newer version already installed". Can't Uninstall because the game doesn't show up in the list of programs. So, I'm in a catch 22 and not sure what to do. I beleive I may need to remove from registry, but can't locate it there either!! Anyone ran into this or had troubles installing because it thinks the game has sucessfully installed (but didn't)?

Sorry to hear Bart and hope u get power back soon! It's one thing to lose power, but when cold it's dangerous and water lines can freeze in the house. I finally got a generator, even if used a few times per year! Last week a guy was found dead of carbon monoxide poisoning due to not venting generator or using inside! It was 11F here this morning, but only flurries.
