  1. Hi I got the BSOD yesterday when booting up, i think it's the g/card because the pc will boot in safe mode ok but not normally. Also if I then disable the card, and re-boot it will boot up normally (albeit in low res) Windows then finds the driver and asks me to re-boot, but if I do I get the BSOD again. So I think the g/card is knackered and I've ordered a new 'un I hope (please) this fixes it. JT
  2. I truly am sorry to hear this news. I haven't been able to visit the site (apart from briefly logging on) or play much for the last few months myself, so I only stumbled across this sad news today. When I first started to play on the idiots servers years ago, Johnny, along with a few others was the first clan mate that I talked to, being at first very 'mike shy'. I used to be pleased as punch if he saw me in game and called out 'hi Johnny Tams!......believe me I felt as though I was accepted...and it meant a lot. Although I never met Johnny, I felt I knew him and I mourn his passing. Sleep well my cyber friend. Your friend John Tams-Chris Casson.
  3. Don't know if you will see this post BIG RED, but glad your back, we used to have a laugh! if you remember me yours John Tams
  4. Hi all, J t here again Just to update everybody after fettling my older (preferred) P.C with a new (well, new to me!) graphics card and with everything running tickity-boo, I accidently left a book pressing down on the space bar as it was booting up, and guess what? the damm thing then refused to boot up...it said quote, 'please put a boot disc in your preferred boot up device' un-quote and it wouldn't go any further, after an hour or so of buggering about, I had to switch it off because I was gonna put a boot up somewhere it wouldn't prefer!...... Anyway the day after, I was telling my next door neighbour about it and he said I'll have a quick look, go and make a brew (we British, in times of disaster tend to think that a cup of tea will fix anything) when I got back it WAS FIXED!....apparently if you keep pressing F8 as it's booting, it takes you to a screen and you select 'boot from last good point'................ So, I'm sorted again! and my neighbour bless him, wouldn't take any reward, I was so chuffed, I offered him money, beer, cigarettes, an hour with the wife,...but no nothing!.. Now that's a mate! Cheers
  5. I know I don't like win 10 either I prefer 7, I'm looking into changing to 7 but I have been told it may cause problems? I don't know if this pc had win 7 originally or was built with win 10 from the get go.
  6. Hi all I came home from 2 weeks holiday (Morocco) last Wednesday, turned on me pc and after 2 mins the display went all weird, and went to a resolution of 360! after much swearing, wailing and gnashing of teeth, I guessed the graphics card went tits up....so I sent for a new one. In the meantime I bought a second hand pc from a shop, and here are the specs. Windows 10 pro. Intel core i5-357ok cpu @3.40ghz 16gb Kingston hyper beast ram GeForce gtx 980ti zozac graphics card azroc -z770c formula motherboard falcon atx gaming case 2tb h/drive thermal take water cooling corsair gaming mouse gaming keyboard I don't know much about computers so did I do ok? I paid £600 for it. also I managed (with a lot of swearing!) to fit the replacement graphics card to my old pc....and it works! regards a (very stressed out) John tams
  7. Loco I did it 'an it WORKS! (And for a computer klutz like me - that's an ACHIEVEMENT) 'cos normally when I click on something 'an it don't work, I default to the_'WHY won't you WORK!' mode followed by a period of sulking, (No sympathy from the wife AT ALL) many, many thanks bro you saved my life!. Also thanks to RobMc who also responded to help me, I truly am gratefull (And so's the wife incidently) Regards JT
