  1. My service provider (Virgin) is currently giving all their customers a FREE ! bandwidth upgrade - in my case up from 20MB to 60MB, problem is, now the fibre optic cable I'm on is now overloaded so at peak times my ping somtimes vary's wildly from it's normal 112 to anything up to 290-300. Virgin say they are working on the problem and are going to switch me to another cable/node/mode? thingy. Fingers crossed. Regards JT/Chris
  2. Dean I've been a member of >XI< for a few years now, and I can honestly say you couldn't find a frendlier bunch of people. Nobody takes the game too seriously, no bitching about losing, hacking etc. Everybody just has fun, and that's as it should be in my opinion. Regards John Tams/Chris.
  3. I thought it was impressive, like you I live in the north (Wigan), and I totally understood the theme, the chimneys and forging scenes and the Brunel references could have been written for my part of the UK.
  4. Bigmeandean, I pissed myself laughing when I read your post!
  5. Depends on the terrorists intentions, if they are just wanting to be allowed to land somwhere, then you would let the game run, because once on the ground the state has options. 1,(Negotiate) 2,(do something to incapacitate the terrorists, drugs in food drink etc) 3,(Finally, if all else fails, storm the plane - at least some of the innocents will survive) However if it's a situation like 9/11, where the intention is to crash the plane, then the only option is to bring it down first. (Because the innocents are going to die whichever course of action you follow) Having said all that it wouldn't be a decision I would wish for anybody to have to make - and I hope it never comes to that.
  6. Good stuff!
  7. Sorry for your loss Angel, But I say unless it hurts when you lose a pet, then people should't have one. When I lost my first dog (an Alsatian called Karl) It broke my heart, and I swore I'd never get another dog. But I came home from work a few weeks later and the kids had found a puppy (they saw someone throw it from a car and drive off) it looked like a ball of yellowy-gold fur,- a tiny little thing. And guess what? he (Charlie) turned out to be a lovely dog and we had him fo 15 years. They give you so much, and ask for so very little in return. Fondest Wishes Chris/John Tams
  8. I agree with you Gorilla, We got 'em here in the UK too. You get young couples-in some cases not married, have a shed load of kids then demand the council not only give them a free house, but a BIG house to keep 'em all in (sometimes knocking 2 houses into 1) and ...oh by the way...we CAN'T go to work because we can't afford the child care, so they get paid to stay at home on benifits, and while on benifits everything else is FREE! Great innit? ME I'd recommend castration.
  9. Happy birthday bro.
  10. I agree 100%, lets get them boobies! as well as playing the COD2 DM server it's my favorite, (after the boobies) You could have HOURS of fun playing hide the sausage with them!.
  11. Seems like I've sorted it, I did like Dawgy suggested and deleted everything after iwd15, and I was on last night no probs. Thanks dawgy and everyone for the help. see you on the fields. Regards JT/Chris
  12. Thanks boys I'll try Dawgys idea first -delete everything after iwd 15 & loc english file and see how I get on. L old Man I'll look for that "compatability file" button as well. Beer, funnily enough I was trying to get onto area 51 DM when It started to play up, I'd just finished downloading the maps, and then I got the prob. Ok so I'll go and try all of the above Thanks boys, catch you later. JT/Chris
  13. Hi all, I'm having trouble with the old "Invalid file referanced" malarky, I know that normally I just open up the "main" folder and delete the offending file, but in this case the file, (192.iwd) just isn't in there. any ideas chaps? because it's starting to get on one's TITS! Yours John Tams/Chris n.b I love the look of the new site, congrats to those peeps who did it for all their undoubtably hard work.
  14. Nice to hear P-Man, I really thought the DM server was dying,-never anyone on it when I have a chance to play (which is not as often as I would like these days) Damm work gets in the way of all the fun things I want to do! LOL! ......Now if I can only think of a way of getting paid NOT to go to work...hmmmm..
  15. Done, and she looks lovely.
  16. Baldie I agree with you totally mate, Most politician's these days seem to be more concered about their image and status than how the country is doing. The thing what gets me at it is, How come when we vote in our local MP and send him off to sit in the House of Commons He is there to express OUR views and OUR concerns. So how is it then, when the time comes for him to vote on somthing that matters to US - he gets handed a "Three Line Whip" which informes him which way he HAS to vote, and If he refuses to vote the way his party wants him to he has the whip taken away from him, and if he holds an Cabinet office - he gets sacked. How about that for "Democracy"?
  17. Holy SHIT..............! YOU SHOT SANTA!!!!!!!!!! No wonder there was jack shit under the tree for me this morning, LOL good one mate, merry Christmas to you, and merry Christmas to all.
  18. Congratulatios mate. I have 2 kids, and 2 grandkids I couldn't imagine being seperated from them.
  19. 100 degrees?? 100 DEGREES PLUS!!! ...????? Jesus wept...... If it gets ANYWHERE near 70 degrees over here, It's headline news in all the papers, and we Brits start melting into our flip-flops. 100%.............I didn't think it went that high............ Now rain, we can handle rain, we can always tell when it's summer in England..........the monsoon is a hell of a lot warmer.......
  20. Well done paperman.. your a "proper chap" as we say around these parts. regards John Tams /chris
  21. Nice pics esp the one of the flak 88, I'd love on of those in my back garden! awesome gun. JT
  22. As a massive Formula One fan, I can't wait to watch it, I just hope it's accurate, as I know his story in detail. He was my all time favourite driver, and in my opinion probably THE best Racing driver that has drawn breath so far. I know you shouldnt compare driver vs driver, but in my opinion there wasn't, and up to now hasn't been anyone better. And please don't compare him with Schumacher, and say he won 7 championships to Senna's 3. He isn't in the same league. JT
  23. As I live in the north of England, I'm not far away from Scotland so I have quite a few Scottish friends as well as a couple of reletives and they tell me that ANY single malt is fantastic, and it just depends on your own taste as to which you prefer but it is drunk on special occasions. However for everyday whisky (Blends) they all seem to like Old Grouse, (commonly called a "low flier". JT
  24. Well Done I can't stand cruelty to animals, esp pets We have a rescue dog ourselves (Choc labrador), that we got from the local cats and dogs home. He was the same, very nervous and timid for a while, but now he's happy and he absolutly adores the wife. -she can't go anywhere without him. So Give lots of love and esp lots of Time - he has to learn to trust people again. Best Wishes John Tams/Chris
  25. YeeeeeeHa, my ping is back to normal, Who said sticking pins into a clay model of my boss wouldnt work!!!!!! ****happy days.****** JT
